🌍 Making a significant impact on #LocalEconomies and communities through our economic and social contributions is our commitment. Here’s how we are driving positive change: 💼 Job creation: We believe in the power of renewable energy to not only sustain the planet but also to create sustainable jobs. Our projects across the globe have generated thousands of employment opportunities, providing stable incomes and fostering local development. For example, our solar projects in Latin America have employed over 500 local workers, contributing to regional economic growth. 🪴 Investment in #RenewableTechnologies: Our commitment to renewable energy extends beyond job creation. We invest heavily in cutting-edge renewable technologies, such as 🔋 Battery Energy Storage Systems (#BESS) and green hydrogen production. These investments not only ensure a sustainable energy supply but also attract further economic activities and innovations in the regions we operate. 📚 #EducationalPrograms: Education is a cornerstone of our community engagement. We run various educational initiatives to empower the next generation with the skills needed for a sustainable future. In Australia, for instance, we have partnered with local schools to offer renewable energy workshops, inspiring young minds to pursue careers in green technologies. 🌟 Success stories: In Spain, our #SolarPlant projects have revitalized rural areas, providing jobs and boosting local economies.

Today marks the inaugural #InternationalDayofCleanEnergy! My commitment to universal access to clean energy is not just a passion; it's a deeply ingrained mission. I grew up with little to no access to energy and decades after, I recognize that the stark reality I experienced still resonates with many. Now, ensuring everyone's access to clean energy has become a cause I champion fervently because it's not a luxury; it's a fundamental right—the right to life. My life's trajectory has been shaped by this responsibility, evident in various initiatives such as REES Africa and Vectar, where I embody and promote the principles of clean energy. As we celebrate this day to create awareness, let it also serve as a reminder that so many people still do not have access to modern energy services . It's also crucial to discard the one-size-fits-all approach, especially for the most vulnerable and marginalized communities. Those in remote areas, affected by rural-urban migration, should not be excluded based on their financial capacity or other criteria used by developers or stakeholders. In echoing Damilola Ogunbiyi 's wisdom, the nexus between clean energy, socio-economic development, and environmental sustainability is strong and this connection must be fully harnessed to address the challenges faced by vulnerable communities globally. So let us be mindful that there are segments of society within the most vulnerable and most marginalised as we know it for whom the current financial structures are inadequate. Innovative financing models are needed to meet the philanthropic needs of these small-scale projects covering the CAPEX, ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, ensuring no one is left behind. While the communities pay a small subsidised stipend to cover the operational expenditure to sustain access to energy for productive use. If recent times have seen subsidies for fossil fuels, clean energy access should not be sidelined. Let's energise a genuinely just and equitable access and transition—a vision that would make my five-year-old self proud.
