Creating Community Impact, One Bowl at a Time 🏌️♂️ Yesterday, TurnBerry Acai had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves. We joined forces with the Canada Shriners Hospital for their 13th Annual Invitational at Summerlea Golf & Country Club. The goal? To raise $1 million for life-changing medical imaging technology that keeps children safe. When we launched TurnBerry Acai 7 months ago, we didn’t just set out to make the best acai bowls in the city — we set out to make a difference. Our mission quickly evolved into "creating an everlasting community impact that transcends acai. One bowl at a time. One city at a time." 🌍 From university campuses to charity events like this one, being there for our community isn’t just a priority—it’s who we are. And no matter how fast we grow, this will never change. Should've prepped the 150 bowls in advance, but I've always been a crash course type of student haha! Could've been a disaster if dad was not here to carry the boat (insert David Goggins)! PS: I was a bit starstruck when I got to meet Montreal Canadiens' legend Chris Nilan haha! Can't forget my Junior A teammate and Hockey Saint-Laurent legend Jaden Lang 🏒 #CommunityImpact #TurnBerryAcai #CanadaShriners #AcaiForACause #GrowthMindset

🧩✨ #AutismAwareness Top 36 Golf Course Rankings: Post 20 - Course #17⛳️ 🧩 💰 DONATE - Please help us get there by donating $36 today: https://lnkd.in/e4MFcQfd To represent the 1 in 36 kids affected by Autism in the US, I will be counting down my Top 36 Golf Courses that I have ever played with a short story/memory for each. If you could please consider donating $36 (or more) to Els for Autism via the link above, I would appreciate it ❤️ Golf Course #17 - Ohoopee Match Club As we make our way to course #17, we go to play one of the newest golf courses on my list, Ohoopee Match Club. Opening in 2018, Ohoopee is found in the rural town of Cobbtown, GA and was designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner. It is owned by successful businessman and golf enthusiast, Michael Walrath, who at age 32 sold his company, Right Media, to Yahoo. Often recognized by its unique “onion” logo, the land on which the course sits used to be a successful onion farm. This type of soil and dunes lends itself to be the perfect turf for excellent golf course conditions, often playing firm and fast to challenge the golfer’s creativity. The word that comes to mind when thinking about the Ohoopee experience is FUN - the lodging, food, service, caddies, and course are amazing and create a memorable weekend. One of the most unique things about Ohoopee is that the course has 22 holes in total with two different 18-hole routings, the championship routing and the whiskey routing, which enables you to have a totally different round while playing on the same property. One other unique aspect that caught me off guard is there are no tee markers. This is by design as the course is meant to be played with Match Play, allowing the golfer with honors to choose how he/she wants the hole to be played. I was amazed by Ohoopee and “the hang” it creates, which has proven to be the successful modern course model that many other courses now are trying to immulate. If you go to play Ohoopee soon, I have no doubt that you will have an amazing time ⛳️

Finished my second 5K this year yesterday. Woo hoo! The Waldwick 5K supports more than two dozen nonprofits each year and attracts hundreds of people. I was delighted to be a part of it! My goal is to complete 3-4 5Ks this year in my attempt to rebuild a habit of jogging, connect with my local community and have fun. Yesterday, I wanted to best my first 5K time and really enjoy the race. I beat my first time by 3 min and smiled the entire race (vs grimmacing and grinding my teeth like the first one). Have you been pondering a goal and aren’t sure how to get started? If I can restart jogging after being away from it for a decade, you can, too! 💡1. Start small - choose a microstep to get going, something that you are totally capable of doing. I started with less than a mile and only 1-2 times a week so I wouldn’t get hurt or burn out. 👋 2. Tell a friend - get support from those around you. I told family and friends and their cheering helped me stay motivated. 🎉 3. Celebrate the wins - a pat on the back goes a long way towards reinforcing a habit. Choose something that feels great to you. For me, it’s as simple as watching a favorite show, a small treat or a massage after each race. What are some of your goals and what are you doing to stay the course? #2024goals #stayingmotivated #celebratethewins #habitbuilding #havingfun

Every two years, the Olympics captivate the world with compelling stories of triumph and heartbreak, perseverance and glory, and communities and countries coming together. As we approach storytelling for our P2P events and campaigns, what can we learn from this? Just as Olympic stories highlight the coaches and families who support the athletes, we can also share the stories of the donors who stand behind our fundraisers. Like the Olympics, which celebrate both major and minor victories—such as a country winning its first medal or a world record being broken—we can honor achievements of all kinds, from first-time fundraisers reaching their goals to top fundraisers setting new records. And just as the Olympics celebrate the collective power of teams and fans, we can recognize the incredible impact that occurs when our fundraisers unite to support our missions. What lessons in storytelling did you take away from the Olympics? Share in the comments below...
