Golf season is coming up...are you limber enough for it yet? You can widen your backswing with more trunk rotation and hip mobility. Here is a simple and effective stretch that will help you drive more trunk rotation for more range of motion and thus power behind your backswing. Have you seen this stretch before? https://lnkd.in/gQWhFx25 In this video I describe the "hinge" in the golf swing. The hinge should happen naturally in your swing: you shouldn't feel like you have to force it. Some players have a delayed hinge meaning it happens later in the backswing as the club is getting to the top. Other players have an earlier set/hinge. I have more of an earlier hinge in my swing because it feels more natural. There isn't necessarily a better way. The biggest thing is to find what is more comfortable for you, an earlier set/hinge in the golf swing or a later one AND be sure to just let the arms and club hinge. You want to avoid manipulating the club with a too much rotation and/or twisting (I demonstrate this in the video). Remember, a hinge is an up and down motion with the wrist, not a twisting or turning motion. Keep that in check and you will nail the proper way to hinge in the golf swing. It’s a good idea to gradually increase the amount of golf played after a period of inactivity (such as if you don’t play over winter) rather than jumping straight into 18 holes three times a week after months of not playing. Instead, over the course of a few weeks, increase your play time with a short time at the driving range, then a 9-hole round before taking on an 18-hole round. To find out more about how wrist injuries are caused because of golf and how you can get back out on the course fast, click the link below to read our blog. https://buff.ly/3x8oP6d
