Meet George! George has allowed us to share and highlight his story, and the read is worth it! George first visited senior associate physio Tina Homayouni at Foundation Cityplace in September 2023, seeking relief from persistent, excruciating shoulder pain following a gym injury. The pain had become so severe that it disrupted his sleep and prevented him from enjoying his favourite pastime—golf. Despite previous treatments, including corticosteroid injections and consultations with other practitioners, George was still unable to return to the sport he loved. Upon assessment, Tina diagnosed George with a degenerative supraspinatus rotator cuff tear, compounded by C5/C6 cervical radicular pain. Due to the intensity of the pain, Tina’s initial focus was on pain reduction. She began by addressing his neck and upper thoracic region using manual therapy, combined with dry needling to target his secondary stabilizers, such as his pectorals and latissimus dorsi. This phase lasted approximately 6-8 weeks. As his pain became more manageable, George transitioned into a progressive strengthening program that aimed to restore his rotator cuff function and improve thoracic mobility. This phase extended over 6-8 months. By the 4-6 month mark, George’s pain had significantly diminished, but he continued with monthly physiotherapy sessions to keep advancing his exercises and ensure a full recovery. George had other painful ailments along the way, such as golfer's elbow and wrist pain, which was all addressed in a timely and efficient manner with an appropriate plan of care for each injury. In August 2024, George achieved an incredible milestone: he played 12 of the world's most prestigious golf courses across Ireland and Scotland over a 15-day period—completely pain-free, even in challenging weather conditions. Way to go, George!

While massage therapy isn’t the same as a visit to a spa, we still want you to feel comfortable and relaxed. After a gentle, hands-on evaluation that lets us know which areas need attention, we’ll have you stretch out on a massage table or settle down in a chair. We might take you through some deep breath exercises to further help with relaxation. As for the massage itself, our therapists have several different techniques that we can choose from. We tailor your massage therapy sessions to suit your needs and address your specific areas of impairment, often working alongside your physiotherapist. Feel free to DM us if you have any questions or click the link to book your massage therapy appointment with us: https://bit.ly/3xw4uIH
