🚨 Our Annual Report is here! 📈 Every year we analyze the data we’ve collected to deliver compelling data that quantifies the real difference the CIS WA Network is making in areas like graduation rates, attendance, and social-emotional learning. This also offers a glimpse into the dedicated efforts of our network's educators, community partners, and valued supporters like yourself! Key Highlights: 1. Students Served: The CIS WA network provided direct support to 107,854 students, out of which 6,204 received individualized supports through our dedicated Site Coordinators. 2. Attendance: 78% of the students either met or showed progress towards achieving their attendance goals. 3. Behavior/Social Emotional: A remarkable 91% of participants not only met but also made progress on both their behavior and social-emotional goals. 4. Coursework: A total of 85% of individuals attained or made progress towards their designated coursework goals. 5. Graduation Stats: 80% of seniors are on track to graduate or complete their GED, while 90% of younger students stay in school, setting them up for future success. 6. 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 (𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗗) 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗹. Led by Superintendent Mike Miles, the district is implementing sweeping changes in teaching methods, teacher evaluation, and school spending. This experiment, driven by a state takeover, aims to improve student outcomes, especially for Black and Latino students. While early test scores show promise, critics point to high teacher turnover and financial concerns. The district's future direction will depend on long-term results and community support.
