Ticketing for major attractions is one of the most challenging issues for the travel trade. Yesterday, Parco archeologico del Colosseo published information about how to apply to be a travel trade buyer under the new procedures. Until a new platform is operational, booking tickets for visits from 1st May is not yet possible, and operators who sold 2024 programmes over a year ago that include the Colosseum still do not know how the new system will work. The diversification and delivery of Europe’s cultural tourism depends on the adoption of current distribution technology to meet client demand and optimise attraction management. Is this a priority? Ticketing for Europe's attractions is rapidly becoming one of the most strategic issues for the travel industry and was a key topic at ETOA - European tourism association's industry day in Brussels this week. The #Colosseum's transition to new procedures is creating an almost unmanageable degree of business uncertainty. This is avoidable.
