Did you know: The hub height for utility-scale land-based wind turbines has increased 66% since 1998, to approximately 94 meters (308 feet) in 2021, taller than the Statue of Liberty. The average hub height for offshore turbines in the United States is predicted to grow even taller—from 100 meters (330 feet) in 2016 to around 150 meters (500 feet) in 2035. Turbine towers are becoming taller to capture more energy, since winds generally increase as altitudes increase. #WindTurbine #FunFact #RenewableProjects

If you are interested please join the discussion at 10:00, in rooms 211-213. “Amid ambitious U.S. offshore wind goals and a limited availability of installation vessels, making use of existing vessels to load out turbine components is critical for advancing project installation and remaining Jones Act compliant in the process. In this workshop, speakers from the teams directly responsible for the first commercial-scale feeder barge operations at Vineyard Wind 1 will share insights from the transportation of hundreds of components. Discussion points will include what has and hasn’t worked thus far, as well as lessons that can be learned from these experiences to improve future project contracting, planning, and execution.
