The silence is either used as a defence mechanism to stay in control of the situation or consent prolongs and interrupts progress; this can be intentional or non-intentional. Unless individuals are versed in identifying these traits; their life can also become disrupted due to silence. This is very true silence does not prevent you from becoming a victim..... silence will just enrage people with certain psychological conditions; this is when it becomes even more dangerous for victims who think that resorting to silence will stop whatever is taking place e.g. stalking etc..... Healthcare security is the most dangerous in the industry.

A policeman sees a drunk man searching for something under a street light and enquires on what he has lost. The drunk man looks at him and replies, "I dropped my key". The policeman says, "Oh, let me help you". They search together for a while and then the policeman asks the drunk man, "Are you sure you dropped your keys here?" The drunk man replies, "Oh no. I dropped them in the park over there." Hearing this the policeman asks him why he was searching here. On which the drunk man replies, "There’s more light here, that's why I am searching here". Many a times, when we are faced with a problem, we get so overwhelmed that we fail to use our common sense and look for an easy solution instead of a correct one. Work towards staying calm in times of crisis as it will help you to think logically and always remember that in life there are no quick fixes.

“It’s bang out of order” That’s how my brother-in-law started the conversation about Linford Christie. “It’s bang out of order that the day after he won Olympic Gold The Sun were posting about his lunchbox and not his win” 🥪 I couldn’t keep quiet on this one. Yes, it’s awful and totally unacceptable. 🚫 But I had to point out this happens to EVERY female in the public eye. Every. Damn. Day. And so the debate ensued… name one! 🫣 I named 10 without pausing for breath. It is hard to understand someone else’s perspective with empathy if you have no shared experience. 🫶🏼 It’s easier for a man to have empathy for another man. 🫶🏼 It’s easier for an adulterer to have empathy for another adulterer. 🫶🏼 It’s easier for a single parent to have empathy for another single parent. But the real power ⚡️comes from… ⚡️having empathy for someone that made a different choice to you. ⚡️having empathy for someone that has a different lived experience. ⚡️having empathy for someone that you disagree with. We use the term ‘empathy’ a lot, but how often do we truly look at something from another persons perspective? It’s not easy. But it is powerful. It’s also my super power. 🦸🏻♀️ It’s what enables me to co-parent so effectively. It’s what enables me to create a judgement free space for everyone that comes to me. 💔 they’ve had an affair 💔 they’ve lied 💔 they’ve been manipulated 💔 they’ve been deceived 💔 they are consumed by rage 💔 they are overwhelmed by fear I don’t judge. This gross #abuse #violence must not be tolerated in any sane #society. These young men do not even understand the #gravity and #impact of what they are doing. No #humanbeing deserves this no matter the offence. I am an advocate and educator against #gbv (Gender Based Violence) #vawg (Violence Against Women & Girls) and one thing I am #certain of is that unless the #cycle of #violence is broken in this #community and #family , the #consequences will continue to trickle down through #generations As an #abused child myself, I have never accepted the #concept of 'spare the rod and spoil the child' narrative because I have been a #victim of it and know just how hard it hurts. So I decided to #stoptheabuse in my family, and advocate for #kind and #empathic parenting, making the conscious, painful and deliberate effort to #unlearn violent #parenting If the #parents of these young men were not #violent, there's no possibility of them being violent much less accept to dehumanise this young girl this way. #absolutely no one deserves this no matter the offence; no one. Do you ever wonder why #africa and #africans #struggle with so much poverty and #dysfunction despite having so much #resources ? Look no further. #violence and #abuse is the culprit. It is the #foundation of all #chaos in every society. Parental/family abuse is the #bedrock of every kind of abuse in every society. I am guessing it is the #reason developed #countries have strict #policies #rules against it, and go to great lengths to #protect #women and #children from abuse. As an advocate against #vawg #gbv I have always wondered why #parental and #family abuse is not specified as a cause by itself in education materials on GBV/VAWG. A lot of us are #dysfunctional adults. Just look at us individually and collectively as a #society. Of simple reference is the current budget padding story enumerating from the Nigerian senate. Yes, #greed gluttony and avarice could be a trauma induced behaviour (behaviour developed as a result of #trauma from abuse) ask a #psychologist near you To date, there are very few adults who had childhoods free of violence. Vioelce/abuse/corporal punishment is deeply ingrained in our culture and parenting, and it has sadly been accepted as normal. I often see people who claim ' my parents beat me and I turned out okay' and I laugh. None of us turned out okay, absolutely #nobody. The good thing is, there is something we can do to change the narrative, a whole. Begin with yourself, by making the self #conscious decision to break the #cycle in your #famiy, #society and #country. Then educate yourself on the psychology of violence, it's impact and consequences on everyone not just the victims. You can find materials and resources on UNDP, United Nations, UN Women Every Woman Treaty platforms. Take courses to #learn about #gbv #vawg to #unlearn all the #sociocultural narratives that #promote violence and sign the #treaty

Their job is to look for this material and then follow up with, identification, arrests and so forth. So it's really serious. People might think they are not doing anything harmful. They are.
