𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 It’s one of the main reasons I’m getting calls currently. Is it down to incompetency, a manager who likes to speak too much. Or is it more sinister that they promised things knowing full well they couldn’t actually go through with them? 👍 You can work from home 2 days a week after probation 👍 You will progress from Senior to Team Lead when you bill x amount 👍 The desk is hot with jobs and candidates, and the person who has just left to go travelling had it billing x amount per month 👍 You will get shares in the business when your division does x amount If the goalpost is changed, would it break the trust you have in that business? #r2r #rec2rec #promises

*BILLINGS VS SALARY - IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!* As much as it's very tunnel-visioned, the above statement is what most recruitment agencies will look at when looking to add to their team. Obviously, this will be completely different for billing managers. A few years ago, there was a simple rule of thumb when it came to this: 💷Your salary x 5 = minimum yearly expected billings So, If you were after a salary of £30k, your billings would need to be a minimum of £150k per year. However, times have changed slightly and it is no longer this transparent due to the nature of the world we live in. This is due to: 📈Raised overheads with daily travel ⚡Higher energy prices and mortgage rates 👨💻A more saturated market driving down fees (wrongly, I might add, but it's happening) So it may not be as straightforward to find the right people as it once was. However, there is still a minimum expectation to adhere to. If your salary is around the same as your annual billings, it's almost certain that your company is operating at a loss by employing you. This is a fact I didn't quite know all the ins and outs of until I became a business owner. Employers have their own overheads for several things, such as: 🏢Office equipment costs and building rent 💻CRM systems 🔎Job board access 💵Company Insurance 🖇️LinkedIn Recruiter Licenses (depending on the level, this is a HUGE overhead!) 👨💼Corporation tax on income 👴National Insurance and pension contributions 🫵Marketing So if your company expresses a concern about performance, consider the above in the rationale behind it.. Of course, there could be the fact your current company doesn't support you with the right tools/training to succeed long-term. In this case, relevant chats need to be had. And if these chats don't work out, give me a call and I'll find you a company that will, support you in advancing your career As always, have a brilliant day! #recruitment #recruiting #rec2rec #newopportunities #recruitmentproblems

I Help Businesses Book 20-40 Highly Qualified Sales Call Organically | Lead Generation Specialist | Appointment Setting
I will never work for commissions. As an appointment setter this is my mindset. But that's not how I always used to think... When I first got into appointment setting Everything looked achievable. "Booked 60 calls" "Booked 70 calls" That's what my peers did for their clients. I thought I could do it too... And I did. I booked 25 appointments for a client as a complete beginner. I was super proud of myself. Felt as if I was the king of the world and I would be paid heavily. At that moment I was working on commission basis thinking that my client is good at closing. I believed that he will close atleast 7-8 clients from my highly qualified appointments... Turns out he closed none. My hopes were shattered. They shattered in the same way a cup shatters when it falls. Ever since that I made a decision. I will never work on a commission basis. I decided that I will work on a base salary. Even though commission basis is good but if your client sucks at closing... You will be left out for nothing. And that's something I can't afford. ---------------------------------------- Do you work for commission basis? Let me know in the comments!

Headhunter for Agency Recruiters/Staffing Sales (Rec2Rec) | Co-Founder of DG Recruit & Recruiter Prep
In most agencies, you make significantly more money as a biller than a manager. Although management is a promotion in title, the scope of your role, and responsibility on your plate, the pay doesn't usually reflect the added pressure. Most recruiters get a $5-10k base bump when they start managing which feels great! But then have junior(s) added to their team who have zero recruitment experience & need to be trained up from scratch. Training juniors is extremely time consuming, especially since the bar is pretty low to get into the industry. A lot of people hired into grad shops are simply not cut out for the work.... and may not even realize they're in sales (I don't understand how this miscommunication happens lol). Who takes on the work of sussing out who has potential and who does not? Front line managers. And they have to do this ON TOP OF running their own deals, leading their team's billing from the front, BDing so they have roles to feed the team, managing their own clients/candidate, and managing up to report on their team's performance. It's a lot. I see a lot of people given this responsibility very early in their career which really hinders their personal success, especially if they're just starting to hit their billing stride and have strong momentum. Overrides for most billing managers are 2-7% of their team's production which is GREAT if their team is good and self-sufficient - but the odds are stacked against them given the industry's 60%+/- first year failure rate. It's extremely rare that new billing managers are given an experienced, high performing team to manage/make money off of with little input - if you have been, that's a gift you better not take for granted! Long story short, the math doesn't typically work out in young billing managers' favor. Yeah, you get a few extra thousand on base, but the cost in time, effort, attention, and added pressure is usually MUCH higher than that. It obviously is a very necessary role since new people need to be brought into the industry and shown the ropes, so by no means am I implying recruiters should never take this route. That said, the best billing managers I've seen tend to be on the higher end of experience (>4-5 years in the industry), have achieved success on their own via a strong book of business they've *personally* built (large amount of knowledge to share), and are ready for a new challenge. They are approaching the role from a more altruistic lens since they've done well already and made a lot of money, so they want to impart their knowledge to their team. Additionally, since they have a strong personal book of business, they can afford to take more time away from their own deals to train effectively vs not having extra time to give to their own team so they give them the bare minimum which isn't helpful to their development.

Recently I was chatting to one of our business partners about the future and the plans we're making together. Recruiters always say how excited they are don't they, it's their stock answer and sales ploy isn't it! They're excited about the *hitiest jobs out there that they're advertising. Funny isn't it. Except it's not. A GOOD Recruiter doesn't bull*hit you they're consultative and truthful. So when I say I'm excited about something it's because I really am!!! Last year we launched a new model with a business partner. It's for those of you who'd love to set up your own Agency but haven't got the foggiest how to go about it! The basics of this offering are as follows: We set your ltd company up for you! Create a website! Talk you through full financial funding so you don't need to worry about money/salary. This is the biggest thing Recruiters worry about when setting up and we can take all of that away from you Do every single bit of your back office including payroll, credit control, HR, Legal In essence we create a bubble around you so that you can do what you do best BILL! Then comes the best bit. Instead of a stuffy corporate support department you get Neil Prestwich and I (Ruth Moran) From the moment we agree to partner with you we are there 24/7. No question is too small or unimportant. You might be a decent biller but you won't have the kind of experience we've developed over the years. Every decision is your decision but we'll support and guide you whenever you want us to. So if you'd love to do it and want to know more DM, message me on 07970 840061 or email ruth@ruthmoran.co.uk

I challenge more people to embrace the potential of commission-only roles. I get it. No base salary is a scary thought to many, but commission-only positions offer a unique chance to reap rewards directly proportional to your efforts. While it can be a leap of faith, the sky's the limit when your dedication drives your success. Especially as every day I read posts about people who have been applying, interviewing, and getting rejected for months now. How about instead of waiting around for someone else to determine you're worthy of getting paid, you take financial matters into your own hands? And with all due respect, if your nose is still up in the air about commission only, hey at least I'm trying to throw you a life line. I like to think I'm offering more than the hundreds of employers that haven't even responded to you 🤷🏽♂️ And then once you do get a salaried job, the good news is most commission only positions, like being an insurance agent, are completely flexible, and you can then do both. I had a 9-5 for 3 years while building my insurance agency until I was able to go full time on my own. Explore untapped potential, challenge yourself, and seize the opportunity to shape your own success story. DM me if you have any questions about the world of the self-employed. #CommissionOnly #UnleashYourPotential #EmbraceTheChallenge"

How Much More Should I Ask for a Contract Finance Role? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gw7Qqs6A #JobOffers #ContractWork #FinanceRoles #SalaryNegotiation Hey everyone! 😊 I wanted to share an experience I’ve had recently and get your thoughts on it. I was in the running for a finance position at a bank, and they mentioned that instead of a full-time employee (FTE) role, the offer would actually be for a contract position. This was unexpected and got me thinking about the financial implications. Now, usually, contract roles can come with a few drawbacks: No benefits: This means no health insurance, retirement plans, or bonuses. Lack of paid vacation: You often have to forfeit the ability to take paid time off, which can really bite, especially if you’re trying to maintain a work-life balance. Job security concerns: With contracts, there's sometimes uncertainty about how long the job will last. Since we haven’t discussed salary yet, I'm left pondering how much extra I should ask for. As a contractor, it feels like I need to compensate for the lack of perks that come with a traditional full-time role. Here's what I'm considering: Research industry standards: What ar...
