I had the opportunity to learn American Sign Language (ASL) in high school, and it was a truly enriching experience. It offered me a fascinating insight into the ASL community and made me think about how ASL allows for creativity in communication, highlighting some limitations of relying solely on spoken language. At a recent corporate retreat my firm hosted, Marcelo Montero discussed the importance of continuous reading, even in an era dominated by audiobooks and podcasts. Reading helps us expand our vocabulary, which in turn shapes our thoughts and the language we use to express them. A richer vocabulary leads to more nuanced and complex thinking. Now, consider the impact of learning multiple languages. Imagine the endless possibilities for our thoughts. ASL, with its unique structure and expressive nature, shows just how creative and diverse communication can be. #ASL #SignLanguage #CreativeCommunication
