Interesting study from HR.com on the state of #fairpay, #equity and #transparency. Whilst 77% of companies say they are committed to closing pay gaps, only 25% have budgets set aside to do this. We will never close gaps if all we do is say we want to close them, but don't look at what it will cost to do so. I'm not saying its easy - we'd all love a secret money tree, but if we are going to take this seriously, we do need to understand how to effectively manage pay budgets now. Do you monitor your #leakybucket (ie what you are spending out of cycle)? are your hiring practices creating new pay gaps? are you overspending on salaries through cost of living increases (compounding each year by continuing to overpay)?
