Last month, we launched the FT3 Value of PM Access & Advocacy Workshop Series, bringing together experts to leverage community insights and empower advocacy efforts at HTA and access decision levels towards comprehensive value-based care. This first workshop on "Harnessing the Value of Innovative Health Technologies: Advocacy for Future-Proof Health Systems" delved into defining the value of personalized healthcare technologies for patients, health systems, and society, and designing evidence-based advocacy to improve patient access. If youโre interested in healthcare innovation, check out the session recording, slides, and key takeaways below. Special thanks to our keynote speaker Dr. Lou Garrison, former President of ISPORโThe Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research, for his insightful presentation on the ISPOR Value Flower and the intersection of value assessment and access. The collective intelligence of all participants culminated in actionable guidance for change makers to strategically advocate at HTA and access decision levels with value arguments and associated evidence! Access the session recording, slides, and insights summary here: https://lnkd.in/gqjmMd-s Weโre eager to continue this journey in our next workshop, which will focus on enabling peer-to-peer support between global and local organizations for impactful advocacy campaigns and supporting industry-patient collaboration for improved HTA submissions. Stay tuned for more! #HealthTech #Advocacy #PersonalizedHealthcare #ValueBasedCare #HTA

Despite the fieldโs continuous innovations and potential to improve patient outcomes, precision medicine remains out of reach for many patients. The FT3 community is working to accelerate efforts to address care-level barriers across countries with varying levels of availability. This involves implementing the right diagnostic and treatment options at the right time, within a care process centered on Shared Decision Making practices for personalized care, putting the patient at the center. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) play a crucial role in this effort and require support. We are currently seeking to understand the specific support needs along the patient pathway. Early insights reveal several key issues: - Challenges with staying current with the latest innovations and clinical guidelines. - Difficulty in applying clinical guidelines, especially since they are often organ-based rather than tissue-based. - Lack of integrated approaches to run programs that address the diverse needs of healthcare team members, fostering better collaboration amongst them for improved patient outcomes. Join us at the FT3 town hall on Thursday next week to share your insights and best practices, and learn how you can get involved in this project! Register now at https://lnkd.in/dUdgJvah

๐ค Traditional medical reports can be confusing, making it hard for patients to understand their diagnosis and treatment options. This is especially true in the growing field of personalized medicine, which uses genetic information to tailor treatments to individual patients. โ We have a new project to address this communication gap! โ Through The Biomarker Test Report: Data Education & Guidance Project we develop tools to help healthcare providers (HCPs) explain complex test results to their patients in a clear and concise way. This includes creating a patient-friendly one-page summary template for test results. The project isn't just about making reports easier to read. It's also about empowering patients to be active participants in their care. Patients who participated in the project highlighted the importance of shared decision-making with their doctors. They emphasized the need for HCPs to be better trained in communicating complex information and respecting patients' perspectives. ๐ง The new tools being developed aim to put the power back in patients' hands. By giving HCPs a framework for clear communication and patients a clear understanding of their results, this project has the potential to substantially change patient-centered care in personalized medicine. ๐ In the blog post, you can find the patient-friendly test report summary template: https://lnkd.in/dTiPXdWd
