Ask The Expert with Schmersal. Question: What is the difference between an Emergency Stop button and Emergency stop cable pull? Answer, from Schmersal 🔽 Emergency stop buttons are latching command devices which are to be used in emergency stop circuits. They are to be red buttons with latching and a yellow background that are stationarily installed on machines and are to only be pressed when it is in an emergency situation. An Emergency Stop Cable Pull switch are to be used on #machinery and in plants where triggering the E-stop must be enabled at any point on the length of cable where the switch is to be installed. These are especially suitable for #ConveyorBelts. If the wire is pulled, the wire breaks, or the optional E-stop button is pushed, the #EmergencyStop function is activated.

More than ever, equipment manufacturing companies are hard-pressed to find ways to save money in both manufacturing and repair settings. One smart way is to use Tension Bushings. They protect the structure of low RPM and low-high impact locations where a shaft is rotating. See what else they can do for your application. https://buff.ly/3x4kj2T

When working on energized lines, can you quantify your crew's and equipment's "safety?" Or do you just have to assume it's safe because you've checked a box? Our PowerArm insulated multi-function jib has 3 patent-pending layers of safety, including a M.A.D. barrier which meets OSHA requirements for coverup and a boom current monitoring circuit for real-time monitoring and alerts for pre-set limits. This is how WE quantify safety - not by checking a box to comply with the bare minimum, but by integrating layers of safety and using technology to monitor and prevent human error from inadvertent contact during live line T&D maintenance. Email sales@lineproequip.com or DM to learn how the PowerArm can reduce planned outages while increasing safety and speed of live line work by mechanizing and modernizing work methods. https://lnkd.in/gMvcnwF4
