One of the most difficult jobs I've recruited for this year was a Site Manager role in Stockport and guess what? I'm recruiting for it again - you can read all about it here: https://lnkd.in/e5AMeHnt What were the complications behind the process? The client had asked for a couple of non-negotiables which were NVQ Level 6 (now they're flexible on this) and that the Site Manager had built a similar type of scheme (minimum 20 unit apartments with lightweight/steel frame). Nothing too tricky, really? YOU SAY THAT BUT BUGGER ME it has been a tough one to fill. Sometimes that happens. I mean, I had a job earlier this year for a CANAL PROJECT MANAGER and managed to fill it - someone specifically who'd re-built part of a canal/disused canal. They're like rocking horse shit! So, give me a bell if you know anyone available. The site has started so this person can start quickly, too, with a package up to £55,000 plus car allowance plus bonus plus a pretty easy way of working within the business. I always say the people who join this business ain't gonna end up rich but they also ain't gonna end up frazzled. You can't count your money if you're braindead from stress! Our advert is here: https://lnkd.in/e5AMeHnt and I'm available on 07766 557554 or john.kirkham@herrerahomes.co.uk.

Hey there! 👋 Ever had one of those lightbulb moments where you wished you'd known something sooner? I totally get it. When chatting with my clients about making their businesses more appealing to buyers, I often hear that sentiment. But here's a friendly tip I'd love to share: Creating a sellable business isn't a last-minute thing - it's part of the journey right from the start! Think of it like planting a garden: • You're not just counting flowers, you're nurturing the whole ecosystem • It's about growing a team of gardeners, not just hiring helpers • You're imagining a beautiful landscape, not just checking off tasks So, what do you say? Ready to grow an amazing business, not just tend to one? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Let's chat about this exciting journey together. Who's in? 🌱 #BusinessStrategy #EntrepreneurMindset #familyowned #planning #accounting

Hiring a Property Manager Doesn’t Mean You Won’t Have Problems – It Means You’ll Have Solutions. As property managers, we often hear, “I hired a property manager so I wouldn’t have any issues with my property!” Here’s the truth: No matter how well a property is managed, problems will still arise. Tenants will move out, maintenance issues will pop up, rents will fluctuate, and storms don’t care who’s managing the property. But here’s what does change when you hire a property manager: ✅ Problems get handled quickly, efficiently, and with less stress for you. ✅ We screen tenants thoroughly to minimize the risks. ✅ We stay on top of maintenance to keep small issues from becoming costly repairs. ✅ We adjust strategies in real-time to deal with market changes. ✅ And most importantly, we take care of the day-to-day, so you don’t have to. Managing properties isn’t about eliminating every challenge—it’s about proactive solutions, effective communication, and expert problem-solving. If you own rental properties and want peace of mind, hiring a property manager doesn’t mean there won’t be issues—it means you’ll have a partner ready to handle them. #PropertyManagement #RealEstate #Landlords #InvestmentProperties #ProblemSolvers

While this seems funny at first glance, the sad reality is that this does happen from time to time within the zoo industry, particularly in places where the management of a zoo or safari park is overseen by people with poor to no management skills. These zoos or safari parks will often employed staff with little to no experience because they are cheaper than experienced staff or because they are friends or relatives of those doing the employing. If we in the zoo industry wish to continue moving ahead and be taken seriously as a professional industry, then all should shun this type of behavior. Hiring inexperienced staff to care for the collection or to oversee the daily management of the park because they are a cheaper alternative to the more experienced professionals within our industry in an attempt to save a few dollars, is often the mistake made by poor managers and is a sure fire recipe for disaster. The saying "you get what you pay for" is definitely true in the case of your park. If the staff caring for the collection, guiding, or management only consider their position as just a job and have no passion for what they do, then how can anyone except them to do their job to a high level and to have any loyalty to your zoo or safari park. timhusband2005@gmail.com
