Its digital processing allows for future software upgrades to address emerging threats. Maj. Gen. Scott Cain, Commanding Officer of the Air Force Research Laboratory, underscored the need for CJADC2: “There’s no air domain, sea domain, land domain – there are only joint domains now. We have to come together to do JADC2. There’s a lot of promise in technology to manage large target sets, orchestrating a highly complex battle on a large scale - from both number of targets to number of threats, and miles we need to cover. That orchestration piece is where we’re going to get large gains. We’re at risk of those plans breaking down at that scale. The support that human decision makers will get from emerging technologies will be a real game changer.
