Honored to support NAVAIR PMA-209 Avionics Architecture (AAT) - the Open Architecture Engagement Team. Connecting Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) Leaders, Experts, Solutions | Think HOST, SOSA™, FACE®, CMOSS
For Tri-Service, Gov't and Industry involved in any way with the MOSA ecosystem - allow me to CLEAR up some CONFUSION concerning two upcoming, focused Open Architecture/Open Standards/Modular Open Systems Approach conferences. Yes, there are two separate and different MOSA-featured Summits. Both are valuable, with strong offerings. But, they do differ. Let me know what questions or clarification would help you or colleagues (sbixby@goprecise.com). FYI: The two events by date: 17-18 APRIL / 'MOSA for Defense Summit' by DSI; and the 17-18 JUNE 'MOSA Industry and Gov't Summit & Expo by TechConnect. Both are set in National Harbor, MD (ergo, adding to confusion.) Raytheon, a division of RTX, has secured a $525 million contract from the U.S. Navy to produce the Enhanced Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) Block 2 and associated spare parts. The ESSM Block 2 features advanced capabilities, including reduced reliance on shipboard illumination and enhanced performance in challenging marine environments. Its digital processing allows for future software upgrades to address emerging threats. Building upon technology used in other active seeker missiles like the AMRAAM and Standard Missile 6, the ESSM Block 2 leverages common hardware and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Raytheon's ongoing investments in infrastructure and materials ensure timely delivery to meet increasing demand. #defense #defence #military #ship #ships #naval #marines #maritime #vessel #militarytechnology #technology #technologies #navy #defenseindustry #defensetechnology

As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of defense technology, one concept is gaining significant attention: Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control. #CJADC2 #JADC2
Our C2I&E Chief Technology Officer, Randy Fields moderated a dynamic discussion at this afternoon’s R&D Summit on the topic of “The Great Power Competition.” There was great discussion on promising areas of power projection. Maj. Gen. Scott Cain, Commanding Officer of the Air Force Research Laboratory, underscored the need for CJADC2: “There’s no air domain, sea domain, land domain – there are only joint domains now. We have to come together to do JADC2. There’s a lot of promise in technology to manage large target sets, orchestrating a highly complex battle on a large scale - from both number of targets to number of threats, and miles we need to cover. That orchestration piece is where we’re going to get large gains. We’re at risk of those plans breaking down at that scale. The support that human decision makers will get from emerging technologies will be a real game changer. It’s informationized warfare, and we need to make those decisions faster.” Ultra Intelligence & Communications designs and delivers interoperable solutions for coalition forces, aligning with the CJADC2 vision of a cohesive network. #POCdefrd10 #event #militarysolutions #militarytechnology #multidomainoperations #defensetechnology #military #RDSummit #innovation #intelligence #communications #technology #networking #CJADC2 #JADC2 #JointAllDomainCommand #situationalawareness Executive Mosaic Potomac Officers Club

Great article in this month’s U.S. Naval Institute monthly journal, Proceedings, titled “SPACE CYBERSECURITY: ACHILLES HEEL” by Admiral Sandy Winnefeld, U.S. Navy (Retired), and General Ellen Pawlikowski, U.S. Air Force (Retired). They write how America’s use of proliferated architectures and higher numbers of satellites will provide some level of resilience from most cyber-attacks; however, the nation needs more sophisticated requirements for cybersecurity in space to prevail in future conflicts.
