Through this series, you'll meet the dedicated individuals who sell, spec, design, manufacture, and build our machines, those who perform quality checks, highlight our offerings, recruit new talent, manage finances, handle transportation, commission our products on site, and provide ongoing support. Our first spotlight is on Mark Fisher, our Business Line Director: 🌊 What initially attracted you to join our team? A number of factors initially attracted me namely, the brand and reputation in the marketplace TWS holds for delivering a highly innovative & customised solution, as well as its dynamic & talented team 🌊 What is your role in the team and what do you enjoy most about it? I am Terex Washing Systems Business Line Director and the thing that I enjoy the most about my role is the opportunity to meet and work with people in all facets of our business 🌊 Can you share a memorable team achievement or success story that you were a part of? In only my second week in the role, I had the opportunity to attend the N American Dealer Conference in Arizona. From its outset, there was a tangible buzz & interest in the opportunities that the N American washing market is offering right now. Off the back of the conference, we are already seeing opportunities convert into orders 🌊 Can you share an interesting fact or detail about yourself we might not know about you? In my younger years, I spent 18mths working in California – an experience of a lifetime! 🌊 What is your favourite thing to do? I am a firm believer in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Running four times a week is supplemented with weekend taxiing our wee ones the length and breadth of Tyrone in their quest for future football glory. 🌊 Can you share a favourite travel destination or a place you'd love to visit someday? Sonoma Valley, Northern California. However, the pinnacle of travelling for me is to take a family trip to Australia & New Zealand and visit where members of our wider families now live 🌊 Do you have a favourite quote or mantra that inspires you? “Well done is better than well said” 🌊 What are you career aspirations at Terex? Get to know our team! We pride ourselves on being a personable service that partners with our clients to help them achieve their goals through a trust based relationship. Therefore we thought it would be great to give you a bit of background to the team that make up Tamar HR and work so closely with all of our outstanding clients. First up, we had Danny Wright, Tamar HR's Managing Director! "I was born, and grew up in Plymouth before moving to London and then Essex when I was 22. After 10 years working in sales, it was time to move back to Plymouth and change the direction of my career. A role at Tamar HR was the new challenge and I haven’t looked back since. Three years in now; I have learnt so much, and I have enjoyed every moment whilst doing it. When Tim offered me the privilege of leading the team earlier in the year, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. With the additions of Amelia and Emma this year, the team is growing from strength to strength, and I’m very excited to see what we can all achieve. Evenings and weekends are for time with my wife Evie and our Labrador Jake, going for long walks and cooking new recipes together. I also play football for local side Plymouth True Blues, and enjoy travelling the world when I can."

Today, let's continue our series with Martina Zicchetti, our logistic manager, our customers' point of reference in the logistics sector. Martina distinguishes herself for her precision and accuracy, versatility and organizational skills. . How is your usual working day at Castal? Every day I share a schedule with the warehouse manager I work with, I am in contact with customers and tuned with suppliers, with production and other colleagues. 'Usual' is not a word I use so much in my job.... Trucks are on the road and anything can happen there. . What do you like about your job? Nothing is trivial, every day is a surprise, a new challenge and a new goal to achieve. This makes everything more interesting and engaging. . Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I don't talk much about myself, I'm not used to doing so, I would say that the ability to adapt to any context and patience allow me to successfully handle the most complicated situations. . What do you always have on your desk? The CALENDAR of course! Planning with calendar and agenda is the basis of my job. . What is Castal to you, how would you describe the company in one word? It is this time of the year, when many people start a new role. Amazing that only 12% of the companies are doing a great job in onboarding their new employees. With this short summary I just want to create awareness that: 1) 21% of new hires leave within the first 180 days. Hiring is expensive 2) Distributing work from missing resources to top performers will lead to frustration. 3) A good onboarding, continuous communication and welcome culture increases productivity of a new employee. 4) A good onboarding increases employer brand and attractiveness.
