Occupational Health Professional RGN NLP Practitioner assisting businesses with complex employee sickness absence. Offering NLP coaching and workshops to develop staff and promote psychological safety
What a day! How was yours? Mine was filled with occupational health reports and client meetings. During a recent workplace visit , a staff member mistook my role as an occupational therapist. While both professions provide valuable services, they differ in their approach. Occupational therapists focus on rehabilitation and home adjustments, while occupational health nurses help individuals return to work after serious illness or injury. It's important to understand the unique contributions of each profession to ensure we provide the best care possible for our clients. #OccupationalHealth #Healthcare #Rehabilitation

Social Skills Occupational Therapy: Some children have difficulty with play and social skills such as turn taking, sharing, playing in a group or with peers. Pediatric occupational therapy services can focus on helping children develop or improve these social and play skills. Some other areas that a pediatric occupational therapist can focus on include: visual skills (visual tracking, visual perception, visual discrimination, etc.), attention to non-preferred tasks, sequencing and planning tasks, and retained primitive reflexes. #socialskills #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #occupationaltherapystudent #occupationaltherapyforchildren #occupationaltherapyforkids

What is the Role of an Occupational Therapist? An occupational therapist (OT) is a healthcare professional who is trained in therapeutic approaches that work with a patient’s ability to perform routine tasks and activities, usually as a means of rehabilitation or therapy after an injury or illness. Occupational therapists may commonly work with patients to evaluate their range of motion, motor skills and their ability to perform basic tasks like dressing, tying shoes, combing hair and other occupational activities. Occupational therapy works by using everyday activities (or occupational activities) as a means to rehabilitate a muscle, range of movement or to otherwise improve a patient’s overall ability to perform lifestyle tasks. #OccupationalTherapy #QualityofLife #Rehabilitation Lula Capuchino OTR/L, CDRS Capuchino Therapy Group Occupational, Physical & Speech Therapy 3601 Marconi Ave, Sacramento, Ca 95821 916-481-1300 https://lnkd.in/gCTdxCme

This month, 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 are receiving recognition, yet there's still a lack of understanding about our profession and our role. For decades, crafting a concise elevator pitch that fully captures what an occupational therapist does has been our aim. Let's view the definition as an ongoing project. Shoutout to @cari.ebert.seminars for coining the term "brain architects" for pediatric therapists! How else would you define an occupational therapist? #OTMonth #ILoveOT #AOTA #PedsOT

Graduate students in the Nazareth University Occupational Therapy program are researching sensory strategies used by caregivers of children with FASD and where they learned them. As occupational therapists, they hope to support caregivers and children with FASD. Attached is the flyer for the research study which includes a short survey about the sensory strategies you use as a caregiver. If you are a caregiver of a child with a diagnosis of FAS or FASD, your child is of age - 12 years old, and you use sensory strategies with your child, you are eligible to participate in the study. If you are also interested in participating in a focus group, there is a link for that at the end of the survey. The link for the survey is https://lnkd.in/g26U6vxS

Occupational therapists and physical therapists hold distinct roles in patient care. While physical therapists focus primarily on improving patients' movement, strength, and physical function, occupational therapists concentrate on helping patients perform daily activities and tasks crucial to their lifestyle and work. This differentiation ensures that therapy is comprehensive, addressing both the physical and practical aspects of patient rehabilitation and well-being. #occupationaltherapy #OT #PhysicalTherapy #PT #OccupationalTherapyMonth #OTMonth
