There are so many people affected by loneliness, and sometimes it's the people you would least expect. It can have an impact on people at any age and if we're honest, we've all felt lonely at some point in our lives. But it often affects many in later life who are vulnerable and it's important to understand, creating a supportive community through open and honest conversations. Each June, millions of people from every part of society take part in Loneliness Awareness Week across the UK and globally. There are coffee mornings and book clubs, walking clubs and art workshops, designated chatty tables in cafes and pubs, businesses putting loneliness on their meeting agenda, and radio stations talking openly about loneliness. And at SOLLA we want to be a part of it, raising awareness so that we can all make a difference, however small it may be, for someone who might be feeling lonely.
