🌟 Did you know? The top 911 calls often involve older adults who've taken a fall. Not only can these incidents result in serious injuries and significant costs, but they also place increased demand on our first responders. So, how can we address multiple challenges at once? Picture a solution that helps cut down on 911 calls, prevent falls, reduce associated costs, and even minimize injuries to first responders from lifting and transferring fallen adults—all without requiring higher-ups to make big decisions, increase budgets, or hire more staff. What if we could maximize our current resources to achieve more? It may sound too good to be true, but it's not! 🌟 Analyzing success is the only sure way to create more of it. 🌟 So many challenges and problems...but what's working in the fourth quarter of living today? When we look at transforming the human experience of aging, it's important to ask, "What's working well?" Let's challenge ourselves to shift our focus from solely addressing problems and challenges. This concept, known as "finding the bright spots," was beautifully articulated by Dan Heath in his book Switch. Heath reminds us that "human beings are hardwired to analyze problems, but not success. However, analyzing success is the only sure way to create more of it." By identifying and amplifying these bright spots, we can pave the way for more positive outcomes and innovative solutions in AgeTech and beyond. Andy Bown, co-founder at WiseOx is the master of partnerships and connecting dots towards startup growth. Here is the playbook: 1. Develop your sense of "connecting dots". Instinct matters for quality and efficiency when selecting partners. 2. Go in person as much as possible. 3. Negotiate the agreement well. Make sure you have the right mix of exposure, collaboration, and communication to get your product story translated to the larger market. 4. Put the programs in place to support partners, but expect you will have to go back 2-3x before the channel is working for you. 5. Hustle to get the partnerships in place, then pause and build the relationships you have rather than move on to the next one.
