Just because a candidate has the qualifications that match the role doesn't mean they are a good fit for the #culture of the program. If you're a hiring manager, in 10 years I guarantee you'll still care about: - Simple processes - Speed of delivery - Customer service - Valuing your time - Quality candidates - Recruiter credibility - Not wasting your time - Having partners you trust - Partners that are easy to work with And these will look painfully basic. Because the tools are way better it's easy to think tech is the answer to issues in hiring. A lot of the problems you see about hiring are solvable by looking at the things people will always care about.

My advice to younger me: Know your numbers. What does it cost to acquire and fulfill a customer? What is your “why”, not only for you but for your employees (if you intend to scale) Make sure you are compliant - hire counsel. The monthly cost is cheaper than the fine. Do the right thing. Take care of your people and they will take care of your customer. Competition in the marketplace is an illusion. It’s you vs you yesterday. Your price can be whatever you decide, as long as your value is higher. Delegate early, define your processes on paper. Listen to your team Hire people that have been there, done that. Pay for experience. Promote from within, they know your system better. Track everything Focus on the highest leverage activity. What is the actual problem keeping you from attaining your goal?
