Today marks a wrap on my first round of Anna Lozynski's Future Focused Book Club! With Anna's expert guidance over the last three months we have dived deep on topics of Artificial Intelligence, the challenges faced by women in leadership positions and cryptocurrency crime. Heavy lifting, but the experience has been a highlight of my year and a constant source of excitement, keeping my mind active and engaged whilst connecting with a diverse group of (very) clever people. Anna is running a summer round of the Future Focused Book Club with enrolments open now, I highly recommend it. I just walked the kids to school over icy sidewalks, and now I’m about to put the final touches on the slides for the free Dissertation-to-Book Workshop we’re giving today! The “we” here is Katelyn E. Knox and me, the authors of The Dissertation-to-Book Workbook. I love doing these workshops because they’re hands-on—we always give the participants time to do practical exercises that spark deep thinking about their academic books. When I do the exercises one-on-one with clients, they often say, “Wow, that’s a really good question” or “Huh, you’ve pinpointed something I’ve been unsure about” or “That’s exactly the heart of the matter right there.” In the workshops, we can tell that participants are making breakthroughs when they put questions in the chat or email us with enthusiastic feedback afterward.
