Many communications professionals meet resistance from higher-ups or clients because we advocate steps that are new to them or that will entail new costs. In these situations, we must project confidence, especially in crises where precise data is often not immediately available. In these challenging circumstances but also for the ongoing conduct of our jobs, it's helpful to be aware of the research that backs up our thinking.
