Scanning documents may soon be getting a lot easier, thanks to new research ECE Professor David Citrin. He and his Terahertz Laboratory team were able to use novel terahertz imaging technology to count stacks of paper in a non-contact fashion. The technology has the potential to complete sorting and scanning tasks in a fraction of the time of current scanners. The research also recently won the European Optical Society Prize.
