What are you smiling at? The very first time that I got to practice leading a team was in campus. I had been through many teams where I was a follower, learning from others. This time round, I was asked to lead a team for a semester. I had experienced different kinds of leaders. Some leaders loved the spotlight and enjoyed being at the forefront most of the time, if not all. Some leaders stayed too much at leading from the back that one would feel as if there was no leader present. As I accepted the opportunity, I thought to myself: what will I do different? I am a leader who believes that everyone is great, and everyone can shine. As a leader of others, the focus moves from yourself to helping those you lead shine and excel. From where I stand, if you shine, I shine and we all shine. Helping you win makes me win too, and we all win as a result. So, what was making me smile from ear to ear?
