On this day in 1804, Aaron Burr shoots Hamilton in Weehaken, New Jersey How did these two former friends and wartime compatriots end up facing each other in a duel? Some might say - 🔶 Honor 🔶 Courage 🔶 Pride 🔶 Politics 🔶 All the above and more What if this was a communication issue? What if Washington had been alive? What if Hamilton’s behavior that become more aggressive was part of Hamilton learning life again without his mentor and protector in life? These were the years where you couldn’t be outright about your desire to be successful, be in politics, or be a leader - it was filled with false humility because being more humble meant others were more likely to trust you - George Washington was a master at this…while Burr and Hamilton were not These two young men come to the forefront of society after the war and both are clearly ambitious, competing with each other, taking digs at each (anonymously and directly), to the point one dies and the other becomes a scourge of high society The Burr-Hamilton feud is a fascinating case study of friend to enemy dynamics and what can happen when you give two people weapons and allow them to take the opportunity to fire them at another The more I learn, the more questions I have… What are your thoughts on these two revolutionary forces of American history? #ushistory #history #communication #frienimies (Image courtesy of history.com)

-- Franklin Delano Roosevelt Franklin Delano Roosevelt, commonly known by his initials FDR, was the 32nd President of the United States. He served four terms in office from 1933 to 1945 and is the only U.S. president to have served more than two terms. Roosevelt led the United States during two of the biggest crises of the 20th century: the Great Depression and World War II. His domestic policies during the Great Depression, known as the New Deal, involved a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations. These initiatives helped restore prosperity to Americans and fundamentally changed the role of the federal government in American society. During World War II, Roosevelt played a central role in leading the Allies to victory against the Axis powers. His leadership style and actions during these challenging times have made him one of the most highly regarded presidents in American history. Roosevelt's presidency also marked significant developments in U.S. foreign policy, including the establishment of the United Nations after the war.
