Question everything, especially prices 🤑 As you'd skeptically eye that last carton of oat milk on the shelf, think: do we need to question everything, especially those partnerships and pricing decisions? Are those OTA relationships truly serving your brand's story or just their bottom line? In our time of digital transactions, let's remember the unmatched currency of human connection. A handwritten note can hold more value than a dozen online reviews. But it’s not just about questioning and connecting; it’s about creating moments that matter. Pause. In the rush to fill occupancy or capture high average daily rates, we sometimes forget to breathe and see the bigger picture - the emotional journeys of our guests. By stepping back, we find clarity in our strategies and in understanding what truly makes a stay remarkable. This is where we blend the art of hospitality with the science of strategy, ensuring every decision enriches our story and our guests. Because at the end of the day, it's not the rooms we've filled but the memories we've created that define our success. Here are two actionable tips to implement: 🤝 Conduct a partnership audit: Critically examine your existing OTA and other third-party distribution partnerships. Evaluate whether these relationships truly align with and elevate your brand's unique story and values. Don't just automatically renew contracts—question if any partnerships need to be renegotiated or ended to better serve your narrative over their bottom line. ⏸ Implement "Pause & Appreciate" practices: To truly understand and create meaningful guest experiences, encourage your team to slow down amidst operational rushes. For example, one suggestion is to enhance pre-shift huddles by discussing 1-2 upcoming guests and their personal reasons for travel.
