Players a wages have not recovered since covid 3 Premiership teams no longer exist Match day revenue access the league has fallen. Premiership teams been hollowed out. A stagnant TV deal that is destined to fall in value in the near future. less people watching the game in TV. If premiership rugby really did, engage in 90,000 people where are they? I think we know the answer. Imagine working at Premier Rugby and thinking publicising this, is a good idea against the current backdrop of the game. Totally misguided EDI nonsense as the game is dying, a kick in the teeth to anyone hoping the game might succeed.

EMRS, through its TasTalks series, explored the impact the 2023 Women’s World Cup had on the perceptions of Tasmanians as it relates to the Matildas and women’s sport more generally. 74% of respondents indicated their likelihood of following the Matildas at the next 2027 Women's World Cup, emphasising a strong connection that Tasmanians have developed with the team and their willingness to continue supporting them in future events. 36% of respondents expressed their intention to purchase tickets to attend a Matildas' match at a local stadium, highlighting the growing demand for live experiences and the desire to witness the team firsthand. 43% of respondents stated that they are now more likely to watch other women's sports as a result of the Women's World Cup. This surge in interest presents an exciting opportunity for the growth and development of women's sports across Tasmania. The 2023 Sporting Equals Race Representation Index (RRI) has been published and we’re pleased to share the progress that England Netball is making. The survey is a crucial baseline barometer, evaluating publicly funded NGBs of sport on their advancements in the race equality agenda, specifically focusing on ethnic diversity and representation. Out of the 58 NGBs that responded, only 12%, including England Netball, scored A or B. England Netball has moved from a C to a B grade overall – with A grades recorded for Board, coaches and athletes – and are sixth out of 58 sports in the final index. While there is still more work to be done, this index provides a good foundation to build on moving forwards. England Netball is committed to ensuring netball is an inclusive sport and improving diversity at all levels. Driven by insight, we’re working collectively across the organisation to develop and deliver our Dedicated 2 Difference Action Plan which will help us drive an anti-racist culture through an equitable approach. Recently, our Regional ED&I Leads joined one of our regular Regional Chairs meetings for the first time (photo from the day below). It was fantastic to have everyone together in one room to spend the day discussing our ambitions as well as sharing best practice, and establishing how we can collectively develop knowledge, build confidence and be fearless leaders to make the change in sport. Wake up media outlets in Australia .... why is it that when news stories are run in sport, male accomplishments are almost always mentioned first? What do women need to do, to be mentioned first? Day 1, Australian Olympic trials and 3 of Australia's top talent, make the teams in almost recording breaking time, Ariarne Titmus almost breaks her own world record in the 400m freestyle, Kaylee McKeown in the 200m IM breaks a new Commonwealth Record and Emma McKeon books her spot in the 100m Fly - marks the first woman to qualify for the team aged in her 30s since Lisa Curry in 1992. However, the lead off story on Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) by a female journalist, was that Sam Short and Elijha Winnington put on a great head-to-head race to qualify for the 400m. Is that more news-worthy than what Titmus, McKeown and McKeon had accomplished before the men's events had event started? How can we influence change here .... let's treat our competitors fairly and recognise achievements rather than always just defaulting to men first. #biasinsport #mediaequality #changethenarrative
