On Monday, over 150 youth baseball and softball players and the local community gathered at the Glenwood Baseball Field in Glenwood, Iowa, to honor the late Officer Christopher Abbott. Abbott was posthumously awarded the “GameChanger of the Year," which celebrates meaningful contributions to a community through youth sports. GameChanger President Sameer Ahuja presented the Abbott family and the Glenwood Baseball & Softball Board with a $15,000 check. The money will be used for facility improvements and renaming Field 5 to Field 165, Officer Abbott’s badge number. Glenwood was also provided new uniforms donated by DICK'S Sporting Goods and GameChanger and designed by PROLOOK. I am an accomplished and results-driven, enablement professional with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and surpassing sales targets in dynamic and competitive markets.
Coach Brett Vavra and his dedicated staff have poured their hearts into this program, and the impact is nothing short of remarkable. As someone who grew up within this programs embrace, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative power it holds for young men. Football isn't just a game; it's a classroom where nearly 100 young men learn the most important lessons life has to offer. An entire ecosystem of growth and opportunity. Teaching loyalty, teamwork, resilience, goal-setting, and accountability—qualities that are sadly scarce in today's world. For many, football is their lifeline. Without the guidance and support of their teammates and coaches, far too many would find themselves lost in the world of darkness that exists off the field and outside the classroom. Your contribution isn't just an investment in a football program; it's an investment in the future of these boys. It helps fuel a vehicle that shapes them into the compassionate, resilient leaders our world desperately needs. Every little bit helps. If you aren’t in the position to donate, I encourage you to share this post. #GOJACKETS

Another weekend of WSL action wrapped, and another new milestone at Fantasy WSL HQ with the app hitting 5,000 requests per minute at its peak! 🔥 (We most likely have goals from Lauren James and Vivianne Miedema to thank for that 👏) But it wasn’t just the players making waves last week. Nikki Doucet, CEO of NewCo, the company taking over the WSL and Women’s Championship, spoke publicly about her ambitions for the league and what she’s prioritising for the growth of women’s football. It’s refreshing to hear her talk about women’s football as “a different and distinct product with a unique audience” - something with incredible growth potential and commercial viability. It’s time to use the momentum in the women’s game to create a model that will allow it to flourish. As Nikki says, “if you look at women’s sport over the last 50, 100 years, it has just been underfunded. It has been treated like a charity and expected charity returns.” We’ve built Fantasy WSL from the same philosophy. We’re in the business of women’s football: creating a game to delight the fans, build a community, and generate commercial value. If you’ve ever watched a women’s football match, you’ll know it deserves no less 👊 #WSL #WomensFootball #WomenInSport #FantasyFootball

In addition to running my own PR consulting firm, I have also been the GM of a non-profit travel baseball program - created in NYC six years ago to provide opportunities for all kids - regardless of economic status. Every year, the East River Sharks baseball program provides scholarships to kids from various parts of NYC who can't afford the cost of joining a travel baseball team. Many of our coaches are volunteers, and we rely on donations to keep the organization running and the kids on the field! Currently 70% of our players are on scholarship! This week, for 4 days only, we are raising money for our non-profit baseball program the East River Sharks! It is weird to post this on LI, but it is part of my world of work, and part of giving back. If you are corporation, we would love your sponsorship if you are looking for a worthy cause. Or if you just want some popcorn and want to send a quick donation (by the way the popcorn is awesome), then click the link below! We are using the funds to create two new younger teams as many of our players are now in high school and college. Need more convincing about how you can help... consider this... 2 of our players have gone to the show (SF Giants and AZ Diamondbacks) 30 of our players over the last 6 years are now playing in college. And, there are more players out there to help! #nonprofits #nonprofit #baseball #youthempowerment #youthsports https://lnkd.in/eBb6gphK

The boys are on tour, but we need your support Due to their footballing journeys so far one thing the lads have never had the opportunity to do is a tournament away. In their last year of junior grassroots football we'd love them to experience this and in the famous Blackpool! Please support us in making this happen and getting the boys to Blackpool Any donation is greatly appreciated https://lnkd.in/ecaVNvCr

3moGlenwood is a great community! I never lived there, but have visited a handful of times to visit friends that moved there around 2000. Well done, GameChanger! This is very cool.
