The benefits of logo simplification extend far beyond adaptability. A simplified logo is easier to remember and recall, making it more effective at establishing brand recognition. It’s also more adaptable to different branding applications, from print to digital and from apparel to packaging. Additionally, a simplified logo projects a more modern and contemporary image, aligning brands with the current design trends and sensibilities of their target audience. The Power of Simplicity: Why Logo Simplification is the Key to Timeless Brand Identity, weandthecolour.

Don’t dive into logo changes lightly. One of the most critical elements in building distinctive brand assets is consistency over time. Most brands have a very long tail of occasional shoppers - and these shoppers generally have weak ties to the brand. They might buy the brand and not even remember it’s name, but recall the colour and shape of its packaging. These weak ties are easily broken if the brand changes or there are too many inconsistencies. After 14 years, COLDSTREAM BREWERY PTY LTD has updated its iconic “shivering man” logo. In my opinion, this bold move has been expertly executed by the team at BrandOpus for three reasons: 🍺 The brand still looks like itself, with core colours and elements of the identity intact. 🍺 The core asset is actually dialled up, becoming more prominent and noticeable - likely making it easier for shoppers to recognise. 🍺 The emotion evoked from the icon is much stronger and more positive. It shifts from vulnerability, discomfort and isolation to strength, resilience and freedom. Yes, there are risks that the most loyal consumers will be upset by the change. But it is unlikely the large volume of infrequent shoppers will be impacted by it. What do you think inspired this change? ~ If you liked this post, follow me @ Brent Vrdoljak for more Credit to Byron Sharp, Jenni Romaniuk and the team at Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for the rationale behind distinctive assets.

My mission is to help businesses shape perceptions and build trust through brand design while guiding designers to master the process.
Brand identity constitutes a comprehensive visual ecosystem that not only fosters brand recognition but also empowers consumers to effectively engage with your brand. It's not just a logo, as many businesses assume. Here is a live example of a brand identity system. #branding #brandidentity #logo #logodesigner #logoinspire #logoinspiration

Brand identity is the visible elements of a brand, such as color, design, and logo, that identify and distinguish the brand in consumers' minds. Brand identity is distinct from brand image. #ocktechs #branding #brandidentity

THE BRAND ICEBERG THEORY What makes me happy these days is that clients are slowly appreciating the value of having a brand strategy before getting into "Logo Design". Over 90% of our clients would get in touch and expect to walk out with a logo like children would do when going into a store to buy lollipops. We have no problem with that. Its so much easy to create a piece of art that you can use on your business card and stationary but with no real impact. And that's why we charge you little Well its easy to say that even with the brilliant logos and brand identities we create for them, some of these brands fail to make impact because art can only go so far in brand management. Below is a simple illustration of what I mean. See if your brand has these things deliberately enshrined in a reference document. If not, what you have may not even be a brand but a beautiful piece of art that represents your company. #brandstrategy #brandarchitecture #branddesign #brandmanagement

As we already know, A BRAND IS NOT JUST A LOGO. The logo is essential as part of the corporate identity, which is crucial to the brand, though there are many other elements involved. I have selected 15 elements that I consider fundamental to creating the core of a brand. The selected elements range from values and mission to the voice and personality of the brand, reflecting its essence and setting it apart from the competition. Although more elements contribute to building a strong brand, I consider these 15 to be especially essential. * Jim Spencer Hall provided me with an insightful suggestion that I find particularly compelling. He recommended adding an additional element that I believe is crucial: brand experience. “ Because at the end of the day, it is the visceral experience consumers have with every touchpoint that forms their real-and-perceived 'feeling' of the brand.” He's absolutely correct. I should have included it initially, but I hesitated due to my desire to limit the graphic to just 15 elements. Nevertheless, I'm including it now because it's undeniably essential What do you think about this selection? #branding #brandstrategy #brandidentity #brandstrategymatters #brandstrategist

Brand consistency is more than just a buzzword—it's the backbone of your brand's identity and reputation. That's where a well-crafted Brand Guideline comes into play. 📚 Simply put, they're a playbook for your brand's identity, encompassing everything from your logo usage, colour palette, typography, imagery, to the tone of voice. Think of it as the DNA of your brand, meticulously outlined to ensure consistency across all platforms and communications. Contrary to the belief that guidelines stifle creativity, done right, they actually provide a structured canvas that empowers teams to innovate and even push defined boundaries. This leads to creative consistency that reinforces brand recognition. Brand Guidelines are not just a set of rules—they are a strategic asset that empowers internal teams, streamlines processes, and ultimately, elevates your brand. What's your experience of brand guidelines; good and bad? #BrandGuidelines #BrandStrategy #BrandIdentity
