Throughout its history the Isle of Man has punched above its weight when it comes to innovation. But there is a risk that it’s getting left behind other island communities in the green energy revolution reshaping economies and communities. It’s a hard decision to invest. Most of the available technology on the Isle of Man today will pay back within 3-7 years. What a great investment to make by reducing you long term cost base and helping the environment.

This is a disaster in the making. Whilst our focus is on gaming, finance and Moneyval, we have forgotten about governance and the threats to our Island. If we don't act now, it will be too late. The EU and other international organisations will set demanding targets. I have no doubt countries will be black and grey listed as a result. It will spell disaster if we are reliant on fossil fuels with only a small timeframe to turn it round. We must return to what we are good at. Let's act on the changes required, become world leaders and sell our knowledge to others. #esg #environment #governance

Low Carbon’s Neil Brown was invited to take part in the main stage discussion “Achieving a just and effective global energy transition” at the Infrastructure Investor's Global Summit in Berlin. Low Carbon has two bold goals for 2030: to create 20GW of new renewable power and to be net zero across all three scopes. “We are in first leg of the energy transition, focussed on building cheap power at scale. Renewables deliver the lowest cost of energy and Low Carbon is playing its part in maximising the creation of new renewable infrastructure. It will take more capital to continue at the pace the planet and people need,” said Neil Brown.
