Innovative Psychiatrist Providing Authentic Integrated Mental Health Care

Lamotrigine Dosing    ➡ The target dose of lamotrigine for bipolar disorder is 200 mg. ➡ Some patients need up to 400 mg or more. ➡ Blood levels of lamotrigine are not routinely checked. ➡ Slow titration is important because of side-effect risks. In the inpatient setting I will titrate faster ➡ Pay attention to medication that might affect lamotrigine’s metabolism such as oral contraceptives #psychiatry #psychiatrist #bipolar #bipolardisorder #bipolarawareness #depressiontreatment #mentalhealth #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthprofessionals #mentalhealtheducation #medicaleducation #medicalstudents #medicalschool

Thanks dr.rossi for this information. According to the fda trials for bipolar and lamotorgine there doesnt seem to be an added benefit of going beyond 200mg . Do you know of any additional studies that were completed where lamtorgine was above 200mg and showed benefit?

I really do not see a reason for a popular and innovative "influencer" to educate the world with such obvious and 50 years old information. Although I could think of one. But this is the first post I saw of this young man so I'll hold my horses for now.
