Keith Winfrey is on his 4th day with us and already putting up numbers like this. Find talent, enable them, get out of their way. Your interviewing and hiring process is VITAL to find and attract talent like this. The onboarding and tools you enable them with is the second piece. Top talent will get bored or sniff out your inefficiencies in a heartbeat. The team you put them around is also super important. A players don't want to be around B or C players. They can't do their best work. I will share more about the hiring processes and "gates" we use to sift through candidates and find the right people so we can put them in the right roles. The first three months after hiring top talent are critical to testing the compatibility between the employee and employer. In my experience, I prefer having a fixed-term short contract rather than signing straight away for a long-term commitment. This allows both parties to test the waters and build trust and alliance. It is crucial to make your top talent feel welcome and accepted in the team, as without this, the relationship can collapse, leading to low morale and eventually the loss of your top talent's enthusiasm to be a part of your team.
