The growing demand for global cuisines, street food, and plant-forward menus reflects the evolving tastes of our clientele. According to the Restaurant Association's latest quarterly update, the hospitality sector experienced a 4.2 percent increase in sales over the fourth quarter of 2023, achieving a total of NZD 4.12 billion in sales. This growth is tempered by significant inflationary costs, with restaurant and food to go prices seeing a rise of 6.7 percent over the period. Notably, the latest figures from March 2024 show that the cost of dining out has continued to rise, increasing by 7.2 percent year over last year.
