We are happy to release our 'Peru Mining 2024' Report! Peru's loss of its position as the second-largest copper producer to the DRC was a blow for the local industry, but the report’s unifying theme is the opportunity ahead to re-position Peru in growth mode. With Rómulo Mucho as the head of Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MINEM), the government is trying to streamline processes and grant environmental approvals to projects that have been in the pipeline for long. Newmont rolls out Africa’s first Cat R2900 XE at Subika Underground Newmont Corporation’s Africa Business unit has deployed the Caterpillar Inc. #dieselelectric R2900 XE loader at #SubikaUnderground mine in #AhafoSouth in #Ghana. The mining equipment, the first of its kind to be used in Africa, marks a significant milestone in #Newmont’s commitment to reduce its global environmental footprint, in pursuant of the company’s ambitious goal of zero #carbonemissions by 2050. Newmont has committed to purchasing nine pieces of the R2900 XE loaders for Subika Underground, between now and 2026, as it phases out the current fleet of loaders at the mine site. “The new hybrid loader combines the power of diesel with the efficiency of electric technology to deliver a 31% improvement in fuel efficiency, translating into significant reductions in heat generation underground, fewer emissions, and a healthier working environment,” said David Thornton, the Managing Director for Newmont’s business unit in Africa. In 2021, Newmont entered into a US$100 million strategic alliance with Caterpillar Inc., to build a comprehensive mining system which encompasses autonomous haulage fleets and other technologies for both open pit and underground operations. The deployment of the Caterpillar R2900 XE loader in Ghana is part of this program, Newmont says representing a paradigm shift in the mining industry towards accelerating carbon emission reduction. #miningtechnology #futureofmining #mineofthefuture #theelectricmine Cat Mining Mantrac Ghana Limited

Peru’s environmental watchdog has granted Antamina, the country’s largest copper-zinc mine, a long-awaited permit that allows it to kick off a $2 billion expansion to extend the operation’s productive life from 2028 to 2036. The Modification of the Environmental Impact Study (MEIA) approval allows the mine, co-owned by Glencore (LON: GLEN), BHP (ASX, LON: BHP), Teck Resources (TSX: TECK.A, TECK.B)(NYSE: TECK) and Mitsubishi (TYO: 8058), to apply changes within existing components. These include the expansion of the open pit and the optimization of the mine’s dumps and tailings dam. “The MEIA is an important milestone for Antamina and the Peruvian mining industry (…) It broadens our horizon and allows us to continue working hand in hand with the authorities and communities,” Víctor Gobitz, chief executive of Antamina said in the statement. Antamina’s mine area will be increased by 25% and the open pit will be deepened by 150 metres. This represents an extraction of up to 173,000 tonnes of ore a day, with a waste movement of up to about 742,000 tonnes daily. The project also includes replacing the primary ore crushing station and installing a new rock crusher. Dam storage capacity will be increased to 1,572 million tonnes from the current 1,100 million tonnes. The granting of the permit comes only a week after representatives from the largest mining companies operating in the country met with Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera, to provide feedback on a new digital initiative expected to speed up permitting in the world’s second largest copper producing nation. #mining #critical #minerals #commodities #zinc #copper #lithium #nickel #cobalt #ev #battery #peru #approves #billionaire #antamina #mineexpansion #investment #projects #refinery #processingplant #exploration #crushers

Caligula: not the Roman Emperor who descended into madness and depravity as so elegantly played by Malcolm MacDowell and a film I have not seen of course 😇, but a new, very large and significant copper soil anomaly at our Arkun Project a few hours drive east of Perth which has the pathfinders suggestive of a porphyry copper deposit with gold assays yet to come. The anomaly is also coincident with a number of MobileMT conductors identified in one of the first-ever surveys done in Australia using the MMT technology of Expert Geophysics Limited. We have generated some significant conductors across the central Arkun project and we have more news to come on that as we work through the data. It is a breakthrough exploration technology and you should go take a look! Caligula needs to be drilled (MacDowell style?) and we will be working towards this over the next few months with land access negotiations already underway. We will also be drilling a few of our REE anomalies such as Hyperion which we announced in early January. So, a lot of news to come! Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) is expediting work programs to identify specific drill targets with follow-up aircore (AC) drilling to be launched soon at the Caligula prospect, as part of its wholly owned Arkun Project in Western Australia. https://bit.ly/4b2NNU9 #miningcomau Mike Jones

𝐆 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 G Mining Ventures Corp. is pleased to provide an update on the commissioning progress at our 100%-owned Tocantinzinho Gold Project in the State of Pará, Brazil. The Tocantinzinho Project is designed to produce approximately 175,000 ounces of gold annually over its initial 10.5-year mine life and remains on track and within budget for commercial production in the second half of 2024. Key milestones include: ✅ Introduction of Ore: On June 10, ore was introduced into the grinding circuit following the receipt of the hot commissioning permit from the Pará State Environmental Agency, SEMAS. This permit allows for mining, ore processing, tailings disposal, and the selling and exporting of gold. ✅ Stockpiled Ore: Approximately 2.0 million tonnes of ore have been stockpiled, with 1.5 million tonnes grading 0.77 g/t Au in the low-grade stockpile and 0.5 million tonnes grading 1.29 g/t Au in the high-grade stockpile. Initial hot commissioning activities will utilize the low-grade ore, progressively transitioning to higher-grade ore as production ramps up towards the planned throughput of 4.7 million tonnes per year. ✅ Project Completion: As of May 31, 2024, the project is 97% complete. Construction is substantially finished, with only minor works remaining at the gravity, ADR, carbon regeneration, and gold room facilities. Pre-commissioning and commissioning of the plant commenced earlier this year, and all systems have been successfully water tested. The primary crusher, ore reclaim system, grinding, and wet circuits have all been tested and are performing as expected. For more information, please see our latest press release: https://t.ly/bNj-c We are excited to approach the commencement of commercial production and look forward to providing further updates as we achieve this significant milestone. #gminingventures #mining #gold #goldmining #naturalresourceinvesting #capitalprojects #gmin #gminf
