Good news for Leading SMRs in general and BWRX-300*** in PARTICULAR (The current NEW Order Leader in Canada/North America) *** From my limited understanding, the Concept from Start to Present seems to be somewhat Unique and well thought out Process leading to some "What-ifs".! REGARDING (Impressive Metric) " 60% maximum capital COST REDUCTION per MW" [Emphasis Added] (1) As compared to what Assumed $/MWe for Larger Size Advanced Reactors.! (2) Expected/Realistic Capital Cost of BWRX-300 - FOAK Unit - NOAK Unit -- N= ? Btw: It is expected that Hundreds of SMRs will be required to help meet "Net-zero" Global Goal by 2050.! (Off course we need to build many more Large Size Advanced Generation III+ Reactors too.) For Commercial Success they must be "Cost-competitive" #DATABASE(1970-2024)

Combined Nuclear/Solar Power (CNSP) plant is being proposed by Holtec International. This is to make use of the heat from both a #nuclear reactor (SMR-300) and concentrated #solar thermal system (HI-THERM HSP). Would be interesting to see the lifecycle cost benefits if this gets constructed and operating. #decarbonization #nuclearenergy

A lot of our decarbonization/electrification and national security ambitions depend on small modular reactors ("SMRs") entering the market as commercially viable electric generating units. Some designs may allow us to harvest the energy from what we currently call "nuclear waste" (which still holds about 95% of the total energy potential) and address the nuclear waste cycle issues -- a potential twofer. The modularity and compact footprint of SMRs also offer a much needed alternative to the transmission investment feeding frenzy that has been enabled by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC") and promoted by the transmission service business models that are dependent on cost-plus economic regulation for earnings.

They are, Out of step, out of time. Soon to be decommissioned. It will be interesting as the fission fuel shortage becomes real as they try to treble the industry and advances in the renewables, hydrogen grid variable generation and batteries as a system solution of energy generation for the whole of the world not just 39 countries out of 189 not just the rich but for all without weaponisation, without pollution of our waterways and without the need to bury waste that is dangerous for 1000 of tears what a waste of time you are here. Fission is an interim unlike fusion and renewables, with the grid-attached variable hydrogen generators and batteries which are deploying faster in 189 countries as opposed to the 39 that fission can Fission fuel.
