The White House has published a comprehensive factsheet updating on the largest sustained push to accelerate US civil nuclear deployment for almost 50 years, with strategies including: - keeping existing nuclear plants operational, - supporting the demonstration and deployment of advanced reactor technologies, - making permitting processes more efficient and effective, - securing and expanding the nuclear fuel supply, - strengthening nuclear safety, security, and safeguards, and - supporting an ambitious strategy to ensure the nation’s nuclear leadership. https://lnkd.in/dwUNCk34 #nuclear #uranium #cleanenergy

The Monark will help keep those career opportunities in Canada and provide true energy security. Canadians supported the development of CANDU and that investment has served Canada well for decades. The success of the Monark will ensure Canadians continue to benefit from that investment. Our Federal and Provincial governments have a responsibility to maximize the benefits for Canadians as we transition to a clean energy future.

Bipartisan legislation to support the development and deployment of new nuclear technologies – The Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy (ADVANCE) Act – has been adopted by the US Senate with a vote of 88-2. Here's hoping this will help speed up the timeline for licensing advanced reactors and reduce regulatory costs. All we need now is for someone to sign on the dotted line and be first! For the past 24 years I have supported the energy and nuclear industry with leadership recruitment. The relationships I have built I could never have dreamed. I have learned more than I ever thought possible of the amazing technology, capabilities and the passion surrounding the nuclear industry. Not just the ability to provide clean energy, but also lifesaving medical isotopes, which are of personal interest to me. Where we can take these advanced reactors is unlimited. Is there work to be done to guarantee critical safety issues, the needed supply chain and potential waste (though smaller), of course. But these have been addressed and continually improved with our large reactors. The drive for net zero, clean emissions, reduced carbon, whatever term you prefer is real! I hope this bill and the DOE's recent announcement to invest $900 million into SMR development will pay off, time will tell. Meanwhile, I will continue to advocate and support the industry through providing sustainable workforce and passionate leaders to advance the mission and vision. Its an exciting time in Nuclear! Estonia's government just passed a resolution supporting the use of nuclear energy. The resolution, "Supporting the adoption of nuclear energy in Estonia (431 OE)", came about from results based on the Nuclear Energy Working Group, whose work showed that nuclear energy adoption was possible. Estonia is particularly interested in nuclear power's energy security benefits in addition to its clean energy production. This resolution paves the way for legislation and regulations centered on nuclear energy use in the country. #nuclear #energy #cleanenergy #decarbonization

For a country that is already a nuclear nation, it is time we have a mature conversation about advancing nuclear power in Australia. Having that discussion includes removing the current federal and state prohibitions on nuclear energy at the same time considering the role of regulation in fostering the industry, and ensuring it meets the standards of performance, safety and transparency the community will expect. With so many nations around the world already well advanced on nuclear energy, Australia can "learn from other mature regulators" to ensure "a safe and secure nuclear power programme."
