From 1 August 2024, the AI Act, the first global regulatory framework on #ArtificialIntelligence approved by the European Parliament and the European Council, comes into force. Aim of this pioneering law is to promote the development and implementation of safe and reliable AI systems across the EU, ensuring compliance with fundamental rights, security and ethical principles, and addressing risks related to powerful AI models. The enactment of AI Act marks a crucial step towards a more secure and ethical Artificial Intelligence, strengthening #DataProtection under the applicable legislation, in particular Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. Meanwhile in Italy, the document "Italian Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2024-2026" has been published. The text is written by a committee of experts designed to support the Italian Government in the definition of a national regulation and strategies for this technology, with the support of AGID - Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale.
