Fourteen State Attorney Generals convened and requested the federal government to declare the extreme heat and wildfire smoke as major disasters. Deaths and injuries to North American citizens continue to rise during the ongoing battles against wildfires. With these occurrences not being recognized by FEMA as major disasters, communities are feeling the impact due to the lack of a mass mobilization of resources. Essential life-saving measures such as cooling centers, air conditioning, and community solar are being neglected. From last year, 2,300 people died from heat exposure. In 2022, the number was 1,030. The numbers are rising without an end in sight. What more proof is needed to protect the average North American? What are your thoughts? #Environment #TheSocialTalks #News #BidenAdministration #ClimateCrisis #ExtremeHeat #GlobalWarmingCrisis

As #HurricaneMilton approaches our state, here are some important things to consider. 🌀 Take all the precautions necessary to protect your home and your jobsite ahead of time, and make sure not to rely on "tricks" you see on social media. Here are some additional tips: ✅ Download the FEMA app to get emergency updates in your area. ✅ Download the MyFPL app to track power outages and restoration. ✅ Make sure you know the phone number of your local police department, fire rescue, solid waste management, seacoast utility authority, and improvement district. ✅ Only call 911 in a life-or-death situation. Keep emergency lines open. Stay safe! 🫶

❗️PLEASE SHARE❗️ 🔴 REPORT HOME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE 🔴 For homes that have been damaged STRUCTURALLY by Sunday’s storms, please report it to the Benton County Citizen Damage Reporter. Individuals should only report damage if debris, such as trees, has punctured their homes. We will need clear photos of the damage. These reports will be needed to determine if Individual Assistance will be available from the State of Arkansas. 🔴WHAT DAMAGE IS COVERED? 🔴 Individual Assistance is not for vehicular damage, downed trees, or fences; it is strictly for a person’s residential structure only. All reports sent in will be reviewed by the Division of Public Safety and used for disaster declaration purposes. Governor Sarah Sanders has signed an executive order declaring a disaster for Benton County. 🔴 WHY REPORT HOME DAMAGE? 🔴 Benton County needs damage report information, as it will assist us with information the State and FEMA need to determine if Individual Assistance will be available. If Individual Assistance becomes available, we will contact the individuals and let them know the steps for applying through the State. 🔴 WHERE TO REPORT?🔴 CITIZEN DAMAGE REPORTER: http://bit.ly/44WW7St
