You know…
It’s rare to see a large, major international company take big steps towards recognizing their employees and securing the companies brightest future positive.
Last week, I was extremely delighted to see many of my former colleagues at Northern Trust receive much deserved promotions after, in some cases, upwards of 10 to 20 years of consistent service.
Doing some simple math, 907 of the more than 25,000 employees of the company were promoted last week, equating to almost 4% of their entire global workforce. In these times of mass layoffs, attrition, and so many other negative new stories, hitting our cycle on a regular basis, it’s pretty refreshing to see a company double down on their people by purposely going beyond comp and remaining true to their existing employees by further enabling their career paths and keeping them happy… and keeping things homegrown.
Kudos and congratulations. Love it when the rights things are done for the right people.
Technology matters. Expertise matters. Experience matters. But the people doing and leading the work and business are at the end of the day what should and will always matter the most.

3moHello GSC! Just checking to see if the CEO got my message. If David Spangler and Lynda Shackelford are planning a lawsuit, all decision making parties need to be involved. If they are SURE they did their jobs to the best of their abilities, id be happy to dispute that. Full accountability is the MOST important objective. Thank you and Happy Friday guys!
