🏆 Further proof of the benefits of embedding an IP strategy in your business, which includes means of tracking inventorship. ❗️The USPTO has issued an update on the role of AI in inventions - this new guidance unequivocally shows that inventorship requires a human, following developing patent guidelines being followed ‘post-Thaler’ in many other jurisdictions. 🇺🇸 The USPTO guidelines state that the use of AI does not preclude patentability, so long as at least one natural person significantly contributed to the claimed invention and can be named as the inventor(s). 🚨Rules relating to the tracking and naming of inventors are also set out and they may not be as straightforward as you think. ℹ️ More information and examples may be found in the helpful update from Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP colleagues and the USPTO’s AI-related resources webpage (https://lnkd.in/eVaDUiXe ) #ipstrategy #ai #artificialintelligence #inventor #invention #patent

Ideas, no matter how brilliant or ingenious they may be, must be safeguarded, and the only way to do that is through patents. Considering the number of patents filed every day, putting together data on the latest trends, examining competitors’ data, and making strategic business decisions comprise a herculean task, not to mention the time taken to complete the process. However, thanks to Generative AI (Gen AI), massive amounts of data can now be analyzed in the least possible time, and the data’s accuracy levels are sky-high! So, what exactly does Gen AI do? Give Mamata Saha’s blog a read and satisfy your curiosity! In the realm of data science (DS), professionals focus on extracting insights from structured and unstructured data. Conversely, artificial intelligence (AI) encompasses broader applications, aiming to create intelligent systems capable of learning and decision-making. While DS analyzes data, AI seeks to replicate human cognitive functions, paving the way for autonomous systems.

Whilst general summarizations of patents can be helpful in identifying technical aspects, what if you wanted to drill down into multiple aspects of a patent at once? IPRally CPO, Sakari Arvela, recently showcased 10 time-saving use cases for Ask AI, IPRally's generative AI feature, within the patent review process. The next use case up is multi-aspect summarization, and using Ask AI to build an overall perception of the key contents of a patent, e.g. the problem it solves and proposed main solutions to the problem. To do this, you could use a prompt like this: 1️⃣ Which problem does the invention solve? 2️⃣ How does it solve the problem? 3️⃣ What are the benefits? 4️⃣ Summarize the independent claims. As you can see in the video below the output is a very digestible overview of the patent. Handy for R&D and innovation teams looking to understand how they could increase novelty or add an inventive step to a design. To view all the use cases Sakari describes you can find the link to his blog in the comments below.

If Groqs new LPU (Language Processing Unit) technology lives up to its hype, this could signify a monumental advancement in #AI and, more specifically, LLM (Large Language Model) development. 🚀 This innovation not only promises to redefine performance standards but also poses a significant challenge to established business models, particularly those of companies like NVIDIA and their GPUs. In the future, we might see a shift where GPUs are primarily utilized for training LLMs, while LPUs take the helm for operational execution. I’m thrilled about the plethora of ideas and breakthrough technologies that will emerge from this mega hype. Let’s keep the conversation going and explore the potential of #LPU in transforming the digital landscape. 🌐💡 #Innovation #TechTrends #FutureOfAI
Groq just created the world's fastest AI chatbot. The specialized processing units run LLMs at nearly instantaneous response times with their recent hardware breakthroughs (and no, it's not Elon’s Grok…). Here's how it works: 1. Groq uses LPU (language processing units) architecture instead of GPU (graphics processing unit), enabling more efficient and faster speeds. 2. Public benchmarks of Groq’s hardware hit blazing speeds of 500 tokens per second, compared to 30-50 for GPT 3.5. 3. Groq, founded in 2016, also recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Elon Musk’s X in November over its chatbot’s ‘Grok’ name reveal. To understand the speeds Groq achieves, you truly have to see it to believe it. Near-instant responses are going to open up a new world of potential for AI and user experiences, while the efficiency and affordability of LPUs could offer an alternative to in-demand GPUs on the market. You can try Groq at groq .com using open-source LLMs like Mixtral or Llama. That's it for today's AI news. I do these rundowns daily, so follow me, Rowan Cheung, if you want to keep up with the latest news in the world of AI.

Groq introduces the world's fastest AI chatbot, setting new standards in AI response times! 🌐 ✨ Imagine interacting with an AI that responds almost instantaneously. Thanks to Groq's groundbreaking LPU architecture, this is now reality, leaving traditional GPUs in the digital dust. Their hardware has shattered public benchmarks, achieving speeds of 500 tokens per second - that's up to 10x faster than GPT 3.5.. 🔍 Amidst a name dispute with Elon Musk's X over 'Grok', Groq continues to push boundaries, proving that efficiency, speed, and affordability can coexist in the AI landscape. 💡 Check out Groq's offerings and open-source LLMs like Mixtral or Llama at their website. #AIInnovation #Groq #TechnologyNews #FutureOfAI"

Version Control for AI: Managing Generative Model Iterations with MLOps. The realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has witnessed exponential growth and complexity over recent years. This surge is largely attributed to the advancements in generative models that have expanded AI's capabilities in creating highly realistic images, texts, and simulations. However, with great power comes great responsibility, particularly in managing these models' versions effectively. Version control, a cornerstone of software development, has become indispensable in AI development for its role in tracking and managing changes. It's here that Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) plays a pivotal role, bridging the gap between the dynamic nature of AI models and the need for operational excellence, ensuring that AI systems are not only innovative but also stable and scalable. #Algomox #AIOps Anil A.
