All of these groups have important pieces of information to share, but a more coordinated effort must be made to disseminate information and engage patients and providers. Patients are often unaware of services that they could access that would improve their quality of life, quality of care, and their financial well-being. In this session, the group will discuss ideas on how to better collaborate and will dialogue with the audience on ideas they may have or efforts already underway in their centers or companies. #infusionprovider #medicalprovider #infusion #infusioncenter #infusionnurse #infusiondeliverychannel #medicalinfusionprovider

Thank you Samit for sharing this important initiative! It's inspiring to see Bristol Myers Squibb taking concrete steps to integrate patient voices into clinical trial development through the PEER program. This approach is crucial for truly patient-centric research. 🎯 Involving patient advocacy organizations globally not only enhances the relevance and effectiveness of clinical studies but also helps alleviate patient burden. 😰 By understanding patients' lived experiences and needs 💡 we can design better trials that are more accessible, less disruptive to daily life, and ultimately more successful. Grace Cordovano, PhD, BCPA - keep up the great work, I hope to see this trend continue to grow across the industry. 🚀 Empowering patients to actively shape the research that impacts their lives is key to advancing medical science in a way that truly serves those who need it most. 💪 Looking forward to seeing how the PEER program evolves and the positive impacts it creates for patients worldwide. #PatientCentricResearch #ClinicalTrials #Innovation #PatientsIncluded #askpatients

I recently had the honor of speaking at the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) and the National Hispanic Health Foundation's (NHHF) 30th Anniversary Leadership Summit, where I delved into the crucial issue of minority underrepresentation in clinical trials. Hispanic and Latinos represent 19% of the national population. Despite this fact, participation in clinical trials is relatively small. This results in many patients missing potential treatment opportunities and hinders the assessment and understanding of potential differences in immune response and tolerability among diverse populations in vaccine studies. It is evident that historical barriers such as language obstacles, mistrust, and cultural differences have contributed to this disparity. However, Pfizer’s commitment remains unwavering. We’re dedicated to fostering trust, breaking down barriers, and ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all communities. We recognize that to better understand individuals’ health needs and the impact of our medicines across all people, it is imperative that our clinical trials and investigators include populations that represent the communities of the countries where trials are conducted or the diseases we aim to address. Meaningful and sustainable changes require an accurate and comprehensive assessment of current practices using standardized methodologies and data analytics, and better transparency surrounding clinical trials. We must work collaboratively to expand access to clinical trials by lowering barriers that may have stood in the way of more inclusive participation and I look forward to driving progress together. #NHMA30 #NHHF30 #PfizerProud

It's important to start with a broad outreach when raising awareness about a clinical trial among a targeted group of patients. 📣 Some studies have shown that 85% of patients were either unaware or unsure that participation in a clinical trial was an option at the time of diagnosis. The lack of awareness among some patients about the possibility of participating in clinical trials is one of the reasons why we at James Lind Care use multiple channels to raise awareness about a clinical trial. When being made aware and informed about the possibility of participating in a clinical trial, most patients want to engage and participate👍 #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #patientengagement
🔍The Patient Recruitment Process In Clinical Trials: Insights into 1st stage of the recruitment process. When recruiting patients for a clinical trial it all starts with raising awareness, providing information and engaging the right audience. We start by informing our members in our online patient communities about the clinical trial, reaching out to patient organisations and running digital campaigns targeting the relevant patient group. This helps us to create as much awareness about the clinical trial as possible. In our communication materials, we provide information about the clinical trial to ensure that the potential participants are well-informed and have their most basic questions answered. When patients are aware and well-informed about the clinical trial, they are often interested in participating. So we kindly ask them to fill out an online survey to sign-up for the oppurtunity to participate. With only 5–10 easy-to-understand questions, we ensure that the questionnaire is easy to complete and that it's in accordance with the inclusion- and exclusion criteria listed in the clinical trial protocol. This approach enables us to assess whether the clinical trial matches the patient's health information. As you can see, our approach results in thousands of patients engaging early by completing our online questionnaire. For this specific trial, we received over 44.000 completions! We care about every clinical trial participant's journey and we're committed to support every patient each step of the way. #ClinicalResearch #PatientRecruitment #PatientEngagement #JamesLindCare #clinicaltrials
