Some words of encouragement for summer interns and new grads... You can do this! This may or may not be the first time you've worked a full professional schedule, and that can be a lot! Early alarms, getting dressed and commuting, mentally preparing for a whole work day - it's all new and different than what you experienced being in school. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, but everyone starts somewhere. Ask as many questions as you have, rely on those around you, and know that one month in, you'll be in a completely different spot. HAPPY NATIONAL INTERN DAY! Dear all professionals, Interns should and could be teaching us a few things. 👇 Here are 5 reasons why interns make life so bright. 1. They remind me to be curious. We often get into our roles and forget to be curious. Interns should remind us to stay curious. 2. They remind me of what it’s like to be in a room and not know anyone. We often forget what it’s like to be in an uncomfortable situation. In a room full of strangers. Interns should remind us to look for that person who might not know anyone. To pull them in and talk to them. We were all there once too. 3. They keep me up-to-date on all the Gen Z lingo. Okay, this is a funny one but so true and is always making me laugh. Interns remind me that laughter at work is so important. 4. They remind me to keep outperforming. Interns are always trying to make a good first impression. They are always trying to outperform one another. This should remind us to never get too comfortable. To always work to outperform your previous day. 5. They remind me to never stop learning.
