💧 We've just signed a new contract for the Palma II facility in Mallorca, Spain, in an initiative led by national water utility Acuaes! Today, we announced a project with key players in Spain's water industry for the Palma (EDAR) II Wastewater Treatment Plant, a significant upgrade for one of Mallorca's essential facilities. This initiative is driven by the national water company Acuaes (SOCIEDAD MERCANTIL ESTATAL AGUAS DE LAS CUENCAS DE ESPAÑA SA) and executed alongside: - EMAYA, S.A., Palma de Mallorca's dedicated water utility - A skilled construction consortium of TEDAGUA, Grupo Lantania, and S.A. de Obras y Servicios, COPASA 🌱 With this project, we'll use advanced thermal hydrolysis technology (THP) to optimize biogas production and reduce sludge volumes—transforming waste into valuable resources while helping the plant achieve higher treatment capacity. 🏖️ This development will not only serve the growing needs of Palma and its neighbouring municipalities but will also contribute to a more sustainable future for Mallorca, a world-renowned tourist destination. 👇 Read more in our press release in the comments, including details on the THP system chosen, modernization goals, and insights from our CEO, Per Lillebø. The THP system is slated to be delivered in 2026 and begin operations in 2027. #wastewater #sludge #biosolids #thermalhydrolysis

Together with the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association, we are piloting the collection of blue-green algae using a new solar-powered vessel specifically designed for the purpose. The “Roska-Roope” vessel, designed for collecting surface debris, has been modified slightly to collect blue-green algae from both the water surface and just below it. By removing blue-green algae, the balance of the Baltic Sea ecosystem can be restored, and raw oil-based ingredients in the chemical industry can be replaced with algae-based alternatives. Widespread blue-green algae blooms disrupt the delicate ecosystem of the Baltic Sea, leading to water quality deterioration and economic harm. The goal is to establish a network of algae collectors and scale up the business. "This is an important first step for us towards large-scale production, and we hope this collection will become a broader business for various operators, allowing us to purchase collected blue-green algae from various partners,” says Chief Operating Officer, Heikki Heiskanen. Stronger together for the nutrients removal from the Baltic Sea! 🌊 I’m so thrilled to collaborate with the wonderful team of Pidä Saaristo Siistinä ry to establish harvesting capabilities for our ever growing problem of the blue-green algae blooms caused by eutrophication in the Baltic Sea. What to do with the harvested biomass? We turn blue-green algae into purified bio-chemicals. Using something that is a problem to something valuable is in the heart of the regenerative business.

The HydroCoop system has arrived in Serbia. The successful testing and assembly of the HydroCoop, along with its active plant watering system powered by solar energy, mark a significant chenge in iskoriscenju vode u uzgajanju biljaka. Additionally, a solar battery powers a fan responsible for air circulation within the farm housing broilers or laying hens. Team of workers were impressed by the seamless integration of the entire plant and animal food production system, all within 9m2 space. The first Hydro Farms will be allocated to single mothers from socially vulnerable categories. This initiative aims to provide these women and their children with healthy food while also allowing them to sell the rest of produce food in local markets, thereby generating additional income for their families.#regenerativeagriculture #agritech #urbanfarmafrica #foodsecurity

Multidisciplinary focus in the regenerative, restorative and conservation economy. Regenerative and restorative ocean solutions, zero-emission society models and sustainable and inclusive economical models.
After busy weeks of field work, both over and under the surface, of the Baltic Sea, which has been extraordinary beautiful at times but also very challenging due to the effects eutrophication, a changing climate and the effects of marine biodiversity degradation, I'm happy to share the news that we have had our kick off for a new and exciting project, Nordic BioBuz, co-funded by Nordic Innovation in partnership with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, SLU - Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet, OX2 Åland, #NemoSeafarms and Magnus Hanstén and us at #UnderYtan. The project explore the synergies between offshore wind energy, low-trophic aquaculture and ecosystem enhancing services in the Baltic Sea. The main objective of the Nordic BioBuz project is to develop a method for biodiversity credits and a framework for an integrated, multi-use business model for offshore wind establishments. This aim will strengthen the role for #natureinclusivedesigns and #naturebasedsolutions in #offshorewind and marine infrastructure projects in the Baltic Sea, whilst it also has the potential to be used in other areas in the Nordics and globally depending on the ecosystem in the area of operation. The works has already started and we have deployed our first pilots in the northern parts of the Åland Islands. Exciting times ahead. 💙 #nordicinnovation #multiuse #Balticsea #offshorewind #biodiversitycredits
