Impressive.... What droneMAG can achieve
At Abitibi Geophysics, we provide #DroneMAG surveys to locate historic natural #gas #wells. We deliver precise maps that offers a detailed view with a tight line spacing of 5 meters and an infill as narrow as 2.5 meters, enhancing the detection of even small gas wells. This technology ensures that generated targets are positioned within a close proximity of 3 meters to the wells, enabling accurate identification. Moreover, it grants the ability to not only locate known wells but also identify new discoveries, thereby enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness in #GasExploration and management. [Understanding Hydrocarbon Exploration through Competition] I’m happy to share my past experience in the Petroleum Exploration Competition held by AAPG UPN “Veteran” SC. This is a team competition that assessed students’ understanding of hydrocarbon prospect evaluation. In this competition, my team (Melaty Barus and Julius Pranajaya Tan) got 3D seismic and well-log data. From this data, we interpreted seismic horizon and fault to build a structural model of the field. It was so challenging since picking must be done with each increment of horizon. Then, we also analyzed well log data for petrophysical analysis, including cut-off determination, well correlation, net pay determination, and Monte Carlo simulation for determining hydrocarbon thickness prospect. We had one month to prepare report and presentation deck. Unfortunately, each of us also faced other competition on the same timeline, but we could prove that each of us could manage time properly for every task had scheduled before. As a result we got 2nd Winner in this competition. My team consists of one student with a petroleum engineering background and two geophysical engineering students. As a future petroleum engineer, it is important to know all processes of upstream business from exploration, and exploitation, to downstream. Finally, this experience was not only giving us rewards and technical skills upgrades but also networking with other students from various regions. #petroleumexploration #oilandgas #geophysics #geology #itb

Geophysical exploration for Hydrocarbons "First lecture" ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ From the beginning of geophysical exploration for hydrocarbons in the 1920s, methods using magnetic, gravity, and seismic principles are the basis for practically all the geophysical work up to the present time. Many other methods have been conceived and tried in a limited way, but none has persisted to the extent that field operations have been carried out on a scale comparable with that of the three primary methods. Gravity measurements are usually made at ground stations and provide information about the gross features of the sedimentary section, These measures are very effective in delineating salt structures. there are many measurement methods for example 1-Old method : In the early days of salt dome exploration, after {Spindletop}, gravity measurements successfully pinpointed domes and led to the discovery of a number of fields. 2-New method : gravity contour maps are effective in locating deep-seated salt structures that often are reflected into the overlying sedimentary layers. it makes economic sense to isolate areas of potential hydrocarbon accumulation. Good morning LinkedIn 🌤️ It’s a fresh week and of course a new episode on my knowledge sharing series “LearnWithSpiphy📚” We just got into the last phase of our learning, Yeah!. Just as revealed weeks back and we’ll be wrapping off this series on Seismic Acquisition and Interpretation. However, lets get into…. Todays Focus: Seismic Waves-Definition and Types 📖 In respect to petroleum exploration, seismic waves are elastic waves generated by the Geoscientist or explorationist to investigate and study subsurface formations. These waves are being emitted by seismic sources, into the subsurface, in which after coming in contact with various formations are being reflected and refracted, these reflections however are recorded by the receivers. These recorded reflections are then analyzed to obtain subsurface data. The two (2) types of seismic waves are the body waves and surface waves. 📖📚 Attached are slides displaying a better comprehension on seismic waves and its types. Have a glance 👀 and let’s engage 💡 #LearnWithSpiphy #Petroleumgeology #Seismicwaves #NYSC #LASG #Seismic #Degeconek #Oilandgas
