Making the world more usable: UX leadership, audience/user/customer research, information architecture, usability, content strategy. Founder & president of 501c3 Rides for Refugees, providing cars to low-income refugees.
If you are upset, as I am, that people in positions of leadership are spreading malicious rumors about #refugees and #immigrants to gin up fear and hatred, here are some things you can do: 1. VOTE. In the U.S., check your voter registration here: https://lnkd.in/eycmpcvJ, and have a plan to vote. 2. Help eligible members of your family, friend group and community register to vote and cast their votes. 3. Support the refugee resettlement agencies and community nonprofits in your area. I promise you, they are doing monumental jobs with modest resources. 4. Spread kindness in real life and online, where so many hateful untruths start and proliferate. We all have hopes, dreams, struggles, and carry the pain of hurtful experiences and words. Be kind and remind others to be kind. Thanks for listening.
