Centra Windows is proud to be part of a groundbreaking $50 million energy retrofit project at Manor House, emphasizing our commitment to sustainable building solutions. An energy retrofit involves upgrading a building’s energy-consuming systems—such as lighting, ventilation, windows, doors, and insulation. By conducting energy performance audits before and after, we can measure significant improvements. These retrofits are essential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering energy costs for residents. The Manor House project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 66% and energy usage by 56%. It's part of BC's climate action efforts and sets a precedent for future deep energy retrofits, with early indicators showing highly promising results. “Single-Family Homes 2024 SmartMarket Brief," presents data based on home builders' and remodelers' use of green building practices in seven categories: energy efficiency, healthier indoor living environments, water efficiency, resource efficiency, resiliency features, operation and maintenance manuals for green features, and green site/green lot design and development. The findings indicate that of the practices in those categories, the most widely used is energy efficiency (91% of home builders), followed by efforts to conserve water (52%) and to create healthier indoor living environments (49%). For remodelers, energy efficiency also topped the list (86%), with healthier indoor living environments and water efficiency coming in second and third at 51% and 49%, respectively.”

Five reasons for #landlords to get a Whole House Plan. The Whole House Plan (WHP) process takes a fabric-first approach and considers occupancy patterns and building characteristics to build a long-term retrofit plan. 1. Root cause identification: The Plan identifies the root cause of issues such as damp and mould and develops a strategic plan to overcome them. 2. Minimise disruption: The Plan can be adapted to reduce disruption for tenants and lays out best sequence for installing measures to help with future improvement plans. 3. Cost-effectiveness and avoidance of expensive mistakes: The Plan will help you avoid single-measures that could compromise the potential for future improvements. 4. Tailored investment: The Plan can be tailored to suit budget and timing. Landlords can choose their level of investment, and the plan can be designed around this. The plan can be used to find cost-effective ways of reaching EPC/energy targets. 5. Achieving energy efficiency standards: The Plan shows the most cost-effective way of reaching current and future energy efficiency standards. If you manage several #properties, we can help you design and cost retrofit programmes across your portfolio. Get in touch with Cosy Homes Oxfordshire for more information. https://lnkd.in/eFDE4TFU
