For this quarter’s “Grid Champion” spotlight, we’re highlighting the Georgia Press Association for their “Local Matters” campaign on the importance of community-based journalism. Local Matters encourages communities to support their local newspapers – because communities with newspapers are better informed and better places to live. Local matters to us too, especially in the communities our partner EMCs serve. When Georgia Transmission builds a new transmission line or substation, we know that means becoming a permanent part of the community. We take our responsibility to be a good neighbor seriously and work closely with the community and local paper. Local newspapers have been a vital part of our process on countless projects that support the cost-effective and reliable energy provided by our partner EMCs to more than 4.5 million Georgians. Thank you, Georgia Press Association, for your partnership and for advocating for local newspapers that keep Georgians informed about the matters happening in their backyard.

I'm an independent journalist exposing dangerous mainstream propaganda serving to manufacture consent for criminal government policies.
In this short clip from an appearance I made on "Reality with Bruce de Torres", I explain that there is no getting around the need to do your own research by getting your information from as wide a variety of sources as possible, and how I try to help relieve that burden with my independent journalism and long-form content that gives you the most essential knowledge, tells you what the different perspectives and controversies are, and gives you the sources needed to verify the facts for yourself. On the value of collaboration between INN's newer, digital-first member newsrooms and longstanding public media members: "When public media is interacting with the new, digital outlets, these new service organizations, these new journalism organizations. It’s a richer way to reach different audiences -- those who get their information by text, those who get it by broadcast, those who get it by email newsletters. It’s more dynamic." Karen Rundlet spoke with WAMU 88.5 today. https://lnkd.in/e6q45Yjm
