I announce that I have updated my resume to reflect my latest achievements and experiences! As I continue to grow both personally and professionally, I believe it's essential to keep my resume current and showcase my skills and accomplishments accurately. The updated resume now includes my recent projects, internships, and academic endeavors, providing a comprehensive overview of my expertise in civil engineering, sustainable construction practices, and research.

As I am now a few months into my internship, I can say I have learned a lot. The knowledge that has been provided to me during this internship is unforgettable and much appreciated! Here is a list of a few things I have learned: - How to set up, use, and properly layout a site using GPS equipment. 💡 Remember Lucy Guitton and her On Campus Internship with the Concrete Lab at Cardiff University researching green cement and concrete from last year?   Lucy has recently won the David Hammermen Prize at the Engineering Professors Council Congress24 for her research during the internship, congratulations Lucy! 🎉   Lucy told us about how she used her On Campus Internship research to enter the competition and the networking opportunities it has provided…    ‘Having heard about the competition I thought it would be a great opportunity to be able to attend the congress. My poster featured my 2023 On Campus Internship ‘The Science behind Green Cement and Concrete’ and explored how waste materials from steel and iron-making processes can be recycled in concrete and cement. Using these materials could not only reduce the amount of material going to landfill but also reduce the need for virgin quarried material. This could help address the issue of waste in the construction industry as well as the production of CO2, both of which are currently major challenges. My results were promising although further work needs to be done to determine how this method could be carried out on a larger scale. Being able to pitch my research poster in front of the congress attendees was a great learning experience for me. My pitch sparked some interesting conversations with academics on future avenues for this research as well as the feasibility of its commercialisation. These conversations were very beneficial to me as they helped advance my research as well as question some aspects which I hadn’t thought of’.
