As I am now a few months into my internship, I can say I have learned a lot. The knowledge that has been provided to me during this internship is unforgettable and much appreciated! Here is a list of a few things I have learned: - How to set up, use, and properly layout a site using GPS equipment. Civil engineering requires many different technologies so a city can function properly. The most important technology is undoubtedly the computer with its many computer programs. Using data collected from the field, an engineer can decipher whether a project is up to code and won't break anything. Another important technology is GPS stakes. This highly accurate GPS sends the exact position of pipes, lines, or anything underground. Without this technology, there would be many more pipes bursting throughout the city as no one would know their exact position.
