Publication alert! Read about how our science is informing management decisions in Grand Bay, AL. We modeled changes in hydrodynamics, salinity and sediment transport with proposed interior headland restoration. While the restoration actions provide some benefits in term of wave sheltering, sediment will continue to be exported out of the estuary under future sea level rise. https://lnkd.in/gMvfKbJk

Estuaries are transition zones between river environments and ocean environments.

Just like every estuary, the Volta estuary is very dynamic with rapid changes in shorelines as well as the formation of sandbars. What's your view on these changes? Do you think the sea defense on the right has played a role in the changes as asserted by most studies in the area? 🤔 #storytelling😜 #coastalengineering #coastalcommunities #Voltadelta #phdresearch #floodmanagement #beaches #planetscope
